Which is the better Blender for your Raw lifestyle?

Unfortunately most of the comparison online are from 2007 and older so they are incorrect or misleading because things like warranty, price, power... are outdated.

I am eating only RAW food diet at home and I now only use the Vitamix (about 2-3x/day). Me and my husband spent many hours researching and comparing... and after many test and talking to experts and reading to many to count online reviews we finally choose the Vitamix 5200. I'm not saying the Vitamix 5200 is better, just better for what my needs and uses are. Mostly we chose the Vitamix because of the Tamper feature/tool (not available in the Blendtec). We found that in reality that many times (5%-20% in our tests depending if are dry, nuts or are not pre-chopped small enough) not everything gets blended right away in either machine so we ended up having to move things around in the container (from the top and sides). With the tamper we can immediately adjust un-blended things in the Vitamix while it is running (more convenient) or you have to turn off the Blendtec, take off the lid, use the included spatula and place the lid back on. We love the simple press buttons of the Blendtec but prefer the variable speed knob of the Vitamix. We think the feature of the Blendtec to build into a counter is brilliant feature but we and I'm guessing most people don't need that feature.
