This where I would like EVERYONE to introduce themselves.

If we are going to connect, encourage and support we need to know a bit more about you and what you what to bring to the table.

I will start and you can go from there! :0)

Hello WAHM's my name is Cheryl Hill. I am a former elementary teacher but several years back decided and felt a need to be home with my first baby girl.

At first as a WAHM I cleaned motel rooms, tutored, and babysat, but that really didn't give me the time to be HOME where I wanted to be.

It was then that I found my Home Business and have never looked back. It gives me the freedom to be ME but at home with the girls and help out financially!

I have a passion for helping other moms reach their dreams and be at home too and I am drawn to the computer and out and about to connect with other moms. I guess as a teacher being a team leader is also a passion and one that I enjoy as well!

Ted and I have been married for 10 years and have two beautiful girls who are 5 and 2. So life, business, girls, and my husband keep me busy but something I LOVE doing and enjoy life!

I also like to READ, GARDEN, and BE OUTSIDE! I look forward to connecting and meeting all of you.

I'm glad there is support because lord knows I need it. lol

I've got 3 kids at home but I'm mom to 5. My kids are plastered all over my blog. For the past year I have been running Happy Panda and tagless baby clothing line for bigger babies. I'm tired. lol

I'm a happy WAHM and homeschooling mom of 2 beautiful daughters. I've been working from home since the day I gave birth to my oldest daughter! I had been working for our church at the time and continued on as a VA (we didn't know the term back then - I'm old) for a few years when my girls were little.

I discovered direct sales soon after and was hooked and have since been dabbling on getting some internet income as well which has been fun.

I love helping other direct sales moms make the most of their businesses and have a few websites toward that end - the first on being DirectSalesTools.com a Squidoo lens focused on various tools to help be successful. I do some one on one mentoring as well and am working on a website for that too. It's a blast.

Thanks for starting this group!

Hi everyone! I'm Laurie, I'm a mom of 3 boys and I just recently started my work at home, virtual assistant business. I formerly worked as a legal assistant and paralegal, but the birth of my third child last year gave me the push I needed to find a way to work from home so I could have a more flexible working life and be home with my boys! My oldest is in grade one (he's almost 7) and the middle boy is 4 and my baby is almost 10 months old.

Hi, everyone! It's been interesting reading everyone's introductions -- each of us works from home, but in such a wide range of fields!

I'm Jenn, homeschooling my 12yo boy/girl twins (who're soon to become teenagers, yikes!). I work from home as a writer. I write books on software applications, graphics, and web design for several major publishers -- the huge tomes you find in the Computers section at the bookstore. I also write contemporary romance novels.

My career allows me a lot of scheduling flexibility, which works well with homeschooling. I never have to work at a specific time and only rarely have meetings or even phone calls. Most of my communication with my editors is via e-mail. On the other hand, I'm almost always under deadline, and trying to juggle everything means I don't get a lot of downtime to just curl up with a book or work on a craft project. Right now, I'm working on a book under a tight production schedule, so I've been pulling a lot of all-niters. I'm starting to feel like a vampire!

Hi all. I'm Heather. I'm 30, I work from home on a farm in Kansas where I live with my 7-year-old daughter and husband of 8 years. Before I transitioned to WAHM life I was a full-time journalist. I work in the same field now.

I don't seem to have as much spare time as I'd like these days, but when I do, I enjoy quilting, reading, outdoorsy stuff and scuba diving with my husband.

Hi there!

I am a forty-something mom of two teenagers. Formerly an engineer with a Fortune 500 chemical company, I quit 12 years ago when my second child was born.

Since that time, I've worked from home in a variety of capacities. Like many, I started with an eBay business (beanie babies, pokemon cards!). Eventually, I was liquidating QVC customer returns on eBay and then through a private website. Things changed...and I moved into direct sales. I am now a distributor with Send Out Cards. I really love it!

My main challenge is lack of support from my family. I struggle with the balance of it all. If I take care of the household, my work suffers and vice versa. Getting dinner on the table is a huge challenge especially with two busy teens.

I am looking forward to new ideas and support and encouragement from all of you and will do my best to reciprocate.

Hi everyone
I'm Traci and have worked from home running my web design business for the past 10 years. I am in the process of changing my business focus a bit more toward internet & affiliate marketing and SEO than strictly web design and some other niche market business ventures. So all that keeps me quite busy and I love it!

On a personal note, I am married to Mark and have six children; three of whom are married & no longer at home, I also have one grandbaby and another due in April 2004. My three remaining children at home are ages 9, 8 & 6 and I homeschool them. I also graduated my 22 year old from homeschool in 2004; so am a veteran to homeschooling.

Between my work, homeschooling and my six dogs (and two cats), my life is very busy and rewarding.

Hi everyone. My name is Christine, I'm 36, have two boys ages 14 (will be 15 next month) and 12 almost 13, both have been homeschooled their entire lives. I've been a single mom for the last 10+ years, living with my mom and eldest sister to help out with homeschooling and finances. last year we moved to Las Vegas, and I started working from home. Two months ago I started my own company in the Transportation industry, and now I am also doing a lot of blogging and writing. If anyone's read the Secular Homeschooling Magazine, you can see an article I wrote in their 2nd issue, and will have another article in an upcoming issue. I'm trying to also write a book... but as I am like most of you, I have too many fires burning and not enough time in a single day to get through it all.

It's great to see so many moms gathering here, this is really a great site!

If you want to see some of my websites:
Best Homeschool Place is my main Blog
Mercury Permit Services is the company I started recently.
Bluewinds my craft site
Law of Attraction & Weightloss is my newest blog on using the Law of Attraction to lose weight and get healthy.

My name is Anna Maria and I have 2 boys who are 8 and 5. I've been a Creative Memories scrapbooking consultant for the past 4 years and I'm really enjoying it. It's been a great way for me to stay at home with my kids and be home when they get off the bus.

My husband is very supportive of my business but I still have a difficult time balancing work and family. There's always so much to do! I've recently gone back to school to work on my certification as a Child Life Specialist.

I also write a scrapbooking blog for our local newspaper. I just started doing this during the summer and it's been fun.

I'm looking forward to learning from other WAHM's about how to handle work and family.

Hey everyone,

I'm a 33 year old jewelry designer living in Southwest Florida. Before Gracie came I had a really busy jewelry business (selling both online and in local shops) but since she's arrived, I have been finding it VERY difficult to balance being a mom, a wife, and working.

I dreamed my whole life of being a self-supporting artist and finally built my business up over the last eight years. I love what I do. Now that Gracie's in primary @ Montessori, I have more time to work, but am unable to find my "groove". I'm struggling right now to figure out how to balance everything. I have a small art studio in my house which I work out of (another dream of mine I was able to fulfill), but it's been very hard to find long stretches of time to get in there and work.

I am hoping to find some inspiration here :)

Hope everyone is well today!

Hi!

I'm a part-time-when-I-can-get-it WAHM. I do Software QA Contracting, but as that work isn't' steady, I have a "day" job at a local publishing company 1/2 days. I keep their email lists up to date for their weekly e-newsletters, help edit the html to get the newsletters out, etc. I keep this job because it's steady work, pays for the Karate and Gymnastics classes for my 8 and 10 yr old, and they don't mind if I occasionally bring 1 or both kids in to the office with me. My husband works for IBM, and some days he can telecommute, which was great for the summer months.

My dilemma is this: because the 'day' job is guaranteed income, I often have to turn down short-term QA jobs because they require 9-5 hours, or they want me in their office full day. I'm not going to give up a sure thing for a 5 day then done job.

Ideal for me would be someone who's looking for 1/2 days of QA work (I actually found 1 company that hired me to do this for a year - but they got bought out.) or at least flexible hours - 4 in the afternoon, and 2-4 in the evening. I have no problem working after dinner, as long as I get to choose the times. I've even offered to travel to the clients office for 1/2 days 1 or 2 days a week, but really I'd prefer to do the bulk of the work from my home office. For the right job, I'd give up my safety net job, but I still want the flexibility to be home when the kids get home from school.

Am I kidding myself?
