Feeling like I'm in over my head this month, with schools and travel soccer. Plus I volunteered to co-chair the school book fair. What was I thinking? :-)

I work full time outside the home but we are blessed in that our family watches the girls. I have a 3 year old that does do preschool 2 mornings a week and a 2 year old. So glad to have this group!!

Thats a good point. If you wait until Summer.. if any of us wait until summer, we'll be scrambling just to find a spot anywhere. I now here in Massachusetts, camps start signing up for summer between November and January.

re Rominna's comment on summer: just don't wait until the last minute. Start looking into what camps are available in your neighborhood now. Pick the ones which will work for you in terms of location, price, start/end times (because these all vary). Then "sell" your child on those camps, and talk to other moms in his class about having their kids go to the same camps. Be ready to be first-in-line to apply for camps when registration opens up (usually April). That way you get your pick. No kidding girlfriend, with 2 kids 4 years apart in age (8 & 12) and radically different interests, my summers are planned using a color-coded Excel spreadsheet!!

I have a 4 YO in preschool 5 x per week and my 2 YO goes 3 x per wk so I try to work where/when I can. I tend to text a lot at stoplights. I also tend to do most work by email so customers/vendors can't hear my kids screaming at me to get off the computer! I juggle a lot Tues and Thurs while I have my 2YO with me but otherwise, it's pretty doable. I say that right now - b/c they aren't here. ha!

Sprout is in home daycare with one of our neighbors. Right now there are three children in total that she watches. Sprout's daycare and the other one in the neighborhood do a lot of things together. Once Sprout is 2, I'm planning on enrolling her in daycare here at work. Since there is a vast diverse population where I work, I think this would be very good for her.

I used a really good day care center before my kids were in school. I liked having a center because they got to interact with other kids, and the one we used really prepared them for kindergarten. If you go the center route, check it out first, visit a few times, and trust your gut. (I visited some places and thought, "I'd never leave me kid here.)

I am an Digital Engagement Manager. We have a nanny who comes to our house and watches our 17 month old daughter. It works for us.

Rominna,

We have an au pair. Some of the services offer summer au pairs that can come when the kids are out of school. Most of the working moms I know put together a complicated combination of different camps to keep their kids entertained and busy.
