Hey, all -
Does anyone live in PA, in either Pottsville, Reading, Allentown...or anywhere in or around those areas? I need to know what sort of services (medical/therapeutic and educational) are available for my boys.

Hi, all -
I'm (shhh!) up for a great job that would require my family to relocate to Pennsylvania. The position is in Pottsville, so we'd be looking to move around there somewhere.
I have two boys with ASD - my 8 YO who has Aspergers and my 3.5 ...
Quick update -- had our evaluation with the developmental pediatrician on Friday. Ig's Dx is pretty much what we expected: PDD-NOS with a clear delay in semantic-pragmatic language skills. Also some signs of ADD/ADHD, but not diagnosed since he's ...
Catherine - we have an appointment with the Child Development Center for Ig on Friday morning. I think it's probably pretty similar. We're expecting a diagnosis and RECOMMENDATIONS for a treatment course...but I don't think they actually offer the...

We're mainstreamed. My family is lucky to live in a fantastic school district with abundant resources.
My Bryn (now 7) started in the preschool disabled (PRIDE) program when he was three - prior to his diagnosis. I had him evaluated primarily bec...
I had a similar reaction to a report on the Osgood file a year or so ago in which autism was referred to as (much less offensively, mind you) a "defect." You can see my rant here.
But I have to say, on the upside, an exorcism would be a LOT cheap...
With #1 son, we found at he had aspergers at age 5. He has stimmed since birth and his eye contact was always odd, so I wasn't surprised...but my husband was sooooo upset. I shared with him my feelings: It wasn't a death sentence - it was a tool. ...
I was also surprisingly sad about the divorce, especially since I've only seen a few episodes of the show.
I do feel that Kate was unfairly demonized in the press. With a husband as laid back as Jon, someone had to take control of that household!...
I 100% feel your pain. Our little guy is equally difficult, and I have two other boys I forever feel like I'm ignoring. And my guy doesn't let me sleep either.
What kind of professional help are your getting? We just started seeing a behavioral p...
Catherine, Tammy - you're right. I absolutely should do that. Can't WAIT for the eval and Dx on July 17. I think the behavioral psych thinks I have Munchausen....
Hi all - Took Ig to the bevioral psych this AM...and of course he behaved beautifully - not a trace of the tantrums or rituals we see at home!
The doc said he saw maybe of a trace of autism...but here's my question then: What is it if you have a ...

Thanks for sending a friends request! I see you in the Special Needs Kids groups. I am going to follow you on Twitter. If you see two accounts: @judielise and @celebratec, they are both mine! One is personal (I try to keep it that way, but it is hard on Twitter) and the other is more biz-related (but personal stuff overlaps!)
Love to answer any questions - Kyle has been through just about everything. While he continues to have some academic issues as a result of his auditory processing, that he shows no signs of autism makes it all worth it. Send me a note anytime. I've not been on TwitterMoms for a while, but now I'm back. Also, check out Autism151.com - if you have any video to share about your story, would love to see it! My other site is www.kylestreehouse.org. Best, Jen
As it turns out, we have more than just the social marketing in common.. I, too, am passionate about fighting breast cancer. Our Race for the Cure is this weekend! Is your picture from the Race?
