Hey Amy. How close do you live to the Norfolk / Albion / O'Neill region? I would really like to add a Twitter Mom to my story. Thanks for your response, and welcome to Twitter Moms!

Checking In to Say Hello!

I have been so neglectful! Sorry about that. It is the story of *Be careful what you wish for*. I have always wanted to get a good blogging job and an agent and start publishing books. Well, check, check, check! It is so nice to not have to slog through freelance writing jobs, but it IS a lot of work. Less sleep and more writing.

I am so busy keeping up with everything(happily) that I haven't been keeping up with the fun stuff too.
It is a 60 degree day here in Nebraska. Hard to believe that it… Continue

Fun Mailbag!

I love mail. My job as a freelancer, has opened up a whole world of fun mail! Believe me, I do get all the bills and other junk, but there is nothing like books that you didn't order and shtuff that a company wants you to review to brighten your day.

The UPS guy always asks me "What do you do again"?.

I got worms in the mail today. Yep, ladies, worms. 1000 wiggling, wormy little guys. I am making a worm composting bin and wanted to try a new style. I thought my poor MIL was going to have a hea… Continue

What a week!

It may seem strange for me to sound as if the week is over, since it is only Thursday. We homeschool on a M-T schedule. Of course, there is plenty of schoolish stuff going on for Fridays, but Thursday is the target date for testing of the week's stuff. We made it! Yeesh.

Since the week started out on the wrong foot(kids had a cold), we just couldn't get it together very well for the rest of the week. The work was done, but clearly not absorbed. I am redoing this chapter in Latin, since there wa… Continue

Sent it, now need to forget it

Well, I just sent in my book proposal.

There, I said it. Now I have to forget that I sent it, go on with life and pretend that I won't be checking my email like a maniac.

I am thrilled to be here and be able to talk to people about this. Writing is such personal, private work. If you want to be published, you have to write in such a way that people feel moved to read more. They don't have the same sense of urgency to find out what you have to say, that you have in getting it out of your head.… Continue

Not Much Point in School Today

Technorati Profile

Snuffle, snuffle, cough, cough. Can you hear the kids? Not much point in trying to school today. We took a sick day and are currently laying around(they are, I am writing). All of them act differently when they are ill. The oldest just sits and sniffs/moans and eats. I guess he has to keep his strength up?

The next in line just whines and rolls around in self-created agony. Really, it is a simple cold. To listen t… Continue
