A little about yourself...
I am 31 and married to the most wonderful man in the world. He was in the Army for 7 years and did 2 tours in Iraq. Right now he is finishing up his AA in Drafting and Design. I am so proud of him. We have a daughter who is almost 6 and suffers from ADHD. I quit my job a year ago so I could spend more time with her and in my search for anything that would help ease her attention/behavior problems I ran across the business that I am involved with now. I work with Work At Home United and must say that it was the best decision I ever made. I help other moms on a daily basis so they can stay home with their little ones too. Since I have been home her behavior has changed dramatically and she is doing awesome in Kindergarten.
When I'm not working I love to cook new and interesting foods. I like to make up my own recipes to suit my family. I like a lot of things that my dear husband can't stand so I change things to how he will eat them. :) While being a geographic bachelor in the army he spent 7 years in Europe. How he ever survived with the food they eat I'll never know. lol Since I was unable to be with him while he was there our plan is to go to Italy next year on vacation.
I love to write, but have had writers block for the last 6 years. Suddenly my abilities seem to be flooding back and I'm working on a new book. I wish I could put my talent to use in blogging, but have not been very successful. All in all we have an amazing life.

Your magic lamp

Hey there,

You're awakened from a deep sleep.
As you rub your eyes, you notice something
strange on the nightstand by your bed.

It's a lamp. An OLD lamp.

You slowly pick it up.

And as you carefully examine it, you notice an
inscription on the bottom of the lamp:

As the new rightful owner of this magic lamp,
three wishes I will grant.

You wonder if you're still dreaming.

But, you decide to give it a try.

You rub the lamp and smoke begins to pour out of
it.

And out of the smoke a… Continue

What THEY aren't really telling US!

Environmental Protection Agency
studies have shown that indoor air pollutants are
3 to 70 times higher than outdoors.

The following information came from a conference call with Kay Heizer, Director of “Healthy Choices” (a non-profit organization comprised of doctors, nurses, environmental scientists and educators committed to teaching the public about the hazards of chemicals in our home and how we can avoid or minimize the risks):

50% of all illness is due to poor indoor air quality[Sou… Continue

What is your new years resolution?

I don't normally make new years resolutions because they last about a month or two and then they fall by the way side. This year is different though. :) Last year right before Christmas I found an at home business that changed my life and I have been sharing it with as many moms as I could find through 2008. Now with 2009 approaching it is my goal to reach twice as many people as I did this year. I lost money before I found Work At Home United because I wasn't aware of all the scams that are out… Continue

Thanks for the warm welcome! My child is a little different with the special needs. His are more medical because he has Cystic Fibrosis. I feel a bond with all mothers that have special needs children though. Other moms tend not to "get it" if you know what I mean. Going Green is something that I would love to do more of! It's always great to help the planet.

Hi Angie - thanks for the welcome! My 12 year old (13 in March) was diagnosed with ADHD inattentive when she was 7. I have several entries about our experience here:

http://bebablog.com/tag/adhd/
http://bebablog.com/category/homeschooling/

Being in a classroom is very challenging for her - and over the years she came to HATE school. Starting this year (7th grade) I've been homeschooling her. It has positively transformed her view of herself and she is so much more motivated. Put her in front of a computer and she's eager to learn anything. It's been an amazing (and so much less stressful!) year so far - I have learned so much about HOW she learns the year.

You wouldn't think ADHD could so profoundly impact their interactions and self-esteem. Since my DD is not hyperactive, it took us a long time to even realize she had "issues" of any variety. But the anxiety that goes hand in hand with having ADHD *in our society* can be incredibly debilitating.

Hugs and best wishes for the New Year!
