When Mindi Casillas raises her voice to her two young boys and says “That’s it, time out,” she’s not necessarily telling one of them to go sit in a corner.

“Sometimes the time-outs are for me,” the Golden resident explains. “Parenting is a round-the-clock job, and with a husband who works full time and no family nearby, I don’t exactly get coffee breaks, vacation time, or sick days. I’ve been known to hide in the bathroom just for a few moments of peace and quiet,” she laughs.
