By the way, do you draw, paint, take photos, etc? How about the kids? Looking for original art for Art Cards for Soldiers!
Soldiers serving abroad have many needs, but one of the ones that comes at the top of their wish list, are cards to send home to their loved ones. Most soldiers are serving in remote locations with little available in the way of luxuries or basics like writing materials. This gives the soldiers a way to celebrate the occasions they’re missing.
Rather than shop the isles at Hallmark, we have called in the favors of artist friends and are providing beautiful, original art cards made especially
for them, to theses brave and wonderful men and women as our way of saying
thanks.
We’ll send these to any active service member through eMail our Military, and soon you’ll be able to purchase a set to have sent by MOM to a deserving soldier or you can purchase them for your own use! We’re so excited to be providing these beautiful art cards to people who deserve only the best for sacrificing so much - time away from the ones they love.
How can you help? We need your original art scanned and sent to us or one card that we can scan. All the details are on the site (see below) or email if you have questions.
Special thanks to the artists for sharing their amazing talents and eMail our Military for supporting this effort.
Visit the ART CARDS FOR SOLDIERS site to see the artwork already donated and for details and PLEASE PASS THIS ON! It would make a great kid project - Scouts, Church, etc.
LOL! I was just reading your bio - I have a 15 yo boy - don't they grow up way too quick? Tell hubby to hang in there the economy is going to get better. Being the Director of a swim school sounds like a great job. I was on the swim team in high school and I still love to be in and around the water ;o) Sounds like you have a pretty incredible life! Glad you're here!

Hi Bonnie ~ Welcome to Twitter Moms! It's a great place to meet awesome women and have fun conversation. Let me know if you need any help! *SmiLes* Suzanne
I am a mother to one 16 year old boy (which I still find hard to believe how that happened. Wasn't he just going to first grade last week?). He is currently living in Washington D.C. and working as a page at the US Capitol until January 24, 2009. It is a great opportunity and wonderful experience, but we are missing him terribly. Thank goodness for the dog. My husband and I have been married 19 years and still really like each other. We own a Land Title Business and the economy is stressing my husband out. During the summer I am the Director of a small swim school and during the school year I am a preschool teacher.
I collect pitchers and snowmen. I really enjoy cooking, cleaning and organizing my home. I guess you could say I am a closeted housewife. I hope to have a cottage by the beach someday so I can "nest" to my hearts content. I also love movies. Netflix is my friend.
