Hi,
Great bio. My mom went back to school at around 43 and got her
degree in horticulture. That's why I like plants soooo much.
Love that cats. I also found a stray dog and thought we would give
her to a good home and we kept her instead and she is our best friend, especially to my 5 year old. They are best friends. She (Lenas) dresses her up like a doll sometimes. Its soo funny.
Take care,
Danie

Great to have you here! We've got an incredible group of women connecting on all sorts of topics, so kick back and make yourself at home. Check out the Twittermoms groups (we have something for everybody). The Twittermoms discussions are quite entertaining, too. Or, just get to know your fellow Twittermoms by browsing some Twittermoms profiles or searching for moms who share your interests, add friends, and start twittering with some incredibly smart and interesting moms.

PS: Let your friends know when you're on twittermoms with a click of the Announce Yourself link in your welcome box. If your Twitter friends are interested, they can check out the cool new place you've found!

Again -- if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.

A little about yourself...
I am almost 65 years old and have 1 spouse, 1 son, 2 daughters, 1 granddaughter, 5 grandsons, and 4 cats.

I retired from BellSouth after 35 years and mostly do volunteer work for a church planter as well as for my own church. I operate a "Knee-Mail" Prayer Ministry at BendedKnee@bellsouth.net where we pray for one another and I send out our Wednesday night Prayer list for the members who can't attend. I also share prayer requests sent to me with the group and we share our prayers.

I'm also in Facebook where I try to maintain a vigil on my 4 grandsons who have accounts to be sure they're not getting in trouble.

Even though I don't consider myself a poet, nor a writer, I do write poetry once in a while and post it on my Blog.

I also have a Music Leadership Certificate from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and am qualified to lead Music in church, although I am not 'career pathing' by any means. I just enjoy music.

I enjoy playing computer games and have 200+ games from Big Fish and Real Arcade. I started getting them for my grandkids but I play them them a lot. I especially enjoy the Hidden Object games and Match three.

I used to read lots of Science Fiction and am a big fan of Robert Anson Heinlein and Albert Clarke. I don't read much any more except for what's on my computer. The computer has replaced most of my reading time.

I had to quit school and go to work in the 9th grade, so I never went to High School, but after getting married and having three children, I took my GED test, ACT test and went back to school and graduated from our local community college with a 3.9 QPA, was on the President's list and won the Sophomore English award. I can tell you a lot about trying to go to school full time, working full time and trying to raise three children all at the same time. I'm daily surprised that I have any sanity left at all...on the other hand...maybe I don't. '0)

I have lived in Jackson, Mississippi since 1962 but prior to that I lived in Alamogordo, NM for a few months, was born in Johnson City, TN and also lived a few years in Kingsport, TN.

If I can be of any assistance to young mothers who need advice I'll be glad to share the things I have learned over the years, so long as they take it with a 'grain of salt' and understand that my opinion is not necessarily the answer for their particular problems.

I usually have an opinion about anything you can mention and feel that everyone is entitled to my opinion. Just ask me what I think about anything and I'll be glad to share.
What kinds of things do you typically Twitter about?
Religion and Politics. Also jokes and prayer requests.
What are your areas of interest?
blogging, twins/multiples, technology, social media, teen moms, work-at-home, politics, religion, gaming, writing

Eternal Decision

From rocks and rills and templed hills,
Our mighty country cries,
For justice toward her helpless ones,
It peals across the skies.

The small and weak; the mild and meek,
Are tortured day by day,
What are they worth, before their birth,
That we throw them away?

Each precious life… Continue

King of King's Cake

A few years ago, my Sunday School Class was having a class meeting and it was close to Mardi Gras time. I picked up a King Cake to take to the meeting as my contribution toward the refreshments. All the way to the party, the colors of the cake and the meaning behind the cake, made f… Continue

Life is Too Short For...

The older I get, the shorter life I have ahead and that is true for each one of us. We need to seek God's wisdom for the ways in which we need to 'spend' the time left to us. Prioritize the time we invest -- are we investing in 'things' or in people? Are we more like Mary or Martha? What do we value in life? Some wonderful thoughts for the New Year we're into now. This is an excellent question for mothers who have to decide between getting dust bunnies out from under the bed, or reading a book t… Continue

Source of Poetry

The words collected through the years,
Trapped in the space between my ears
Seem anxious to emerge.

Hidden deep within my mind
They tell events of every kind,
They're always on the verge

Of spilling from my pen with glee,
Forming thoughts of you and me,
I can't control the urge.

They bubble up within my heart,
Somewhere in the deepest part,
They simply have to merge.

I wake at one, or two, or three,
I can't sleep 'til I've set them free,
My mind I have to purge.

They swirl and twirl, they s… Continue
