A little about yourself...
I am 30 years old with 2 beautiful children Sophia (born 9/06) and Miles (born 6/08). I used to have a very adult life and a great job at an investment bank that paid me real money, but I left when I found out I was pregnant with Miles to figure out how to be a good mom, how to make money some other way and to finish a renovation of my kitchen. Not surprisingly, all projects are taking much longer than planned. I now have days when I would give anything to be back with grown ups, but because grown ups are so much less funny than kids and I love to laugh, I think I will stick with my kiddos and work from home.

I started my blog to 1) Have a very real memory keeper for my family and 2) give myself a chance at avoiding very expensive therapy. If I can vent and put into words all the good and the bad to you, internet, I am hoping I can stay out of the therapists chair.

If you have kids, you know that your sense of what is or is not appropriate in adult conversation is dulled by the amount of poop and throw up that you see or have on your clothes on a daily basis, so excuse me if the level of detail is past your level of comfort. Have kids. You will understand. I must be honest in all, and that means details. I mean at this point, poop and boobs and all that baby stuff is just plain funny. You either laugh or cry!

So basically, I am just a mom with a lot to say and no fear of sharing my thoughts with strangers. Welcome, Internet, to my crazy world.

The 12-Week Wait (www.mommywords.com)

There are so many waiting periods when you are pregnant, but once you have had a miscarriage and have started to chart to become pregnant and become crazy with all things fertility and the first trimester, in particular, is a waiting game like no other. You see, according to the baby doctors, the chance of miscarriage after the first trimester, or 12 weeks, is less than 1%. Those are pretty good odds in pregoland. The first 12 weeks are like a crap shoot in my opinion. Not good.

Let’s review. M… Continue

Three, Three and Under (from www.mommywords.com)

Yes, you heard it right! Baby #3 is expected in our house the end of January! I had the ultrasound and those adorable pics of a strange form prove that we could have an addition! I couldn’t be more excited or scared. Two under 2 is fantastic but so tiring – I can only imagine what 3 will be like. Crazy times are coming to my house. My husband would claim that I am already crazy and this will just make it crazier. While I used to act shocked, he is right. I have always been sorta wacky and now my… Continue

Hi Brittany,

I'm writing to introduce you to a new website I launched for Charlotte parents last month. Charlotte TRACKS, located online at www.charlottetracks.com, is an acronym for "Tools, Resources and Activities for Carolina Kids." As a local mom of three and a former magazine editor, I've come across lots of great resources for kids in the Charlotte region, so I decided to put them all on ONE website for local families to use. Charlotte TRACKS is also a social networking site for parents, so those who join can post blogs, forums, calendar events and other information for other parents to see. I started Triangle TRACKS at www.triangletracks.com for parents in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region a year ago, and it's doing very well out there, so I decided I would start one for Charlotte as well.

I wanted to reach out to you to find out if you could let our Charlotte friends know about this site via email, Twitter or other Charlotte social networking sites you belong to. And if you get a chance, let me know what you think of Charlotte TRACKS.

By the way, my Twitter URL is http://twitter.com/charlottetracks.

Thanks,
Elizabeth Shugg
