Oh, the action around here!
I feel like a really bad mama with all your healthy suggestions. Am I the only one who digs through the bags to find the chocolate for herself? I thought Halloween was for the parents...you know, the one night the kids go foraging for food at the ...
I still remember the notes from my mama! They certainly mean a lot to my daughter. Do you add dipping sauce for the carrots, etc?
Here are some of my favorites:
1. Carrot sticks
2. Apple slices
3. Cheez-Its or Goldfish
4. Any kind of sandwich
Some of the stuff my mom used to put in mine that I loved:
1. ABC soup
2. Chef Boyardee
I also add a little note telling them that...
My daughter is 9 years old and still wants us to put notes in her lunch box. She got upset because I forgot one day already. ha
thanks for the tips. My son starts kindergarten in two weeks and this will help. (I was also thinking of getting stickers, pictures, and prizes to hide inside????
WOW! This is one healthy lunch box. What's funny, is my daughter eats almost all of that. We've never had passion fruit. I'll add that to the list to try for sure!

My daughter loves a homemade burrito. I make it in the morning and wrap it in foil and it stays warm. Usually beans and rice with salsa. She also loves the yogurt sticks...organic, of course. Also, I love the organic fuji or washington apples from...
Okay we have:
snowpeas
passionfruit - take the flesh out to make it easier
cherry tomatoes
flat bread
dried apricots
almonds
apple
cucumber
My boy will start school next fall, and I'm already planning his lunches! LoL! I'm sure I'll be packing zuchini bread... he can't get enough of it since I made some last week!
Ham or chicken roll ups in a wheat tortilla are good finger food... and...
Great idea. I always loved Pita Bread growing up.

My daughter & I both have nut allergies, as do many kids in her school.

Bagel and cream cheese breaks up the sandwich blahs in my house. Baby carrots, grapes, and he also likes to build his own cracker sandwich (PB, Turkey, Cheese, cream cheese, etc...) grilled chicken strips.

What a great idea to put PB on both sides. I always hated that mushy side growing up. Crazy I haven't thought of it before!
