Dheepa you are so right. My experience was very similar to yours. When I started my own business saving money in certain areas was really important to me. I to had very little knowledge of technology when faced with building my own website, which ...

It's the least I can do when someone takes the time to post good solid content. Sometimes I'm just cleaning up after shameless, dim witted spammers that think a self promoting advert is all the world needs more of! Big broad dreaming, a good plan...

Shuan: Congratulations on all of the wonderful steps you've taken -- you're a great example to us all! I really believe that there is nothing more important than befriending that person in the mirror. I'm particularly glad that tea is part of you...

Hi, Malika, it's great to hear your take on the article! I really believe that we should allow ourselves to dream widely and wildly. Once we identify what we want, though, we've got to plan and build the road to get there, brick by brick. Thanks a...

Before you become alarmed, I’d better explain myself. Marci Alboher, in her book One Person / Multiple Careers coins the term “slash” to describe a person with several co-existing career identities. (OK, I used the word “slasher” rather than “slas...

A little about yourself...
THE CHAI, BABY! STORY http://www.ChaiBaby.com
Did you hear about the lawyer who took down her shingle and started a tea company? Well, sit down and take a load off, baby, and I’ll tell you the story. In her Indiana home, this lawyer had been longing for the real, traditional masala chai she’d had while growing up – steaming hot black tea with gloriously intermingling scents and spices. She remembered the warm, leisurely afternoons when she’d sit, sip and muse about life.

She decided that she had to find the masala chai of her memories to enjoy here and now. So, she searched! And she steeped! However, after she tried what seemed like a hundred different masala chais on the market, not one really re-captured her memories and experience.

So, she did what anyone would do. She decided to make her own Masala Chai! After enlisting a masterful tea blender, she sculpted and refined blend after blend, until she concocted The One. It was so perfect that she simply had to share it with others, and Chai, Baby! was born.

The lawyer-turned-tea designer delighted in the fact that she could share her life experiences through the medium of artistically blended teas, and she decided to pursue this passion. She went on to create a Jasmine & Rose green tea blend that exquisitely captured her frequent travels to the tropics. Then, she designed a unique Relaxation Blend based in the Ayurvedic herbal remedies she’d been given while growing up. And she knew that there would be many more all-natural, healthy and delicious tea blends to come.

And all because she wanted to have her chai and drink it too!

Be specific, baby!

Despite the challenges of entrepreneurship, many people dream daily about owning their own businesses. They have interesting ideas, exciting dreams and great energy. Nevertheless, they find it difficult to take the first steps and get started. For some, it’s downright daunting.

Recently, I had the opportunity to talk with Indianapolis business coach Dawn Shea. I asked her how budding entrepreneurs with big dreams can start turning their business visions and inspiration into reality.

Whew. Easy… Continue

What are you putting in your mouth, baby?

“There’s a growing sophistication in drink as there has been with food,” says Eric Seed, an importer of tough-to-find liqueurs. In a recent Atlantic Monthly article (“Spirits of the Dead,” April 2009), Wayne Curtis described Seed's business and the growing interest in cocktail liqueurs that have been long out of use -- liqueurs with flavors like walnut, apricot, and even violet.

The popularity of such drinks reflects a gradual change in the way we consume food and drink. It seems that, as peopl… Continue
