Do You Have Mommy Hair?

Back in the early 1980s when I was a new Mom, Farrah Fawcett hair was all the rage! All my friends wanted to look like her, and we drove our hair stylists crazy! For a short while I had that “Farrah” look, feathered and highlights - rather than “mommy hair” - where I cut it short because it was so much easier! (Read More)

It’s My Party and I’ll Do What I Want To

As a multi-generational blogger, I hang with many different folks, both my age, and those who are probably the same age as my daughters. I hold many interests - remember, I’m the “reference librarian“ wannabe - and enjoy discussing different topics - food, crafts, fashion, kids, lifestyle, travel. You know, ‘different strokes for different folks.’ That sort of thing

This whole mommy blogger thing is just too much and getting on my nerves. Since I’m a Baby Boomer, I’m way too savvy for drama, an… Continue

To See Ourselves As Others See Us: Paint a New Picture of You

It’s not a mistake that we only see ourselves as a reflection in a mirror. Who we truly are comes from within and not from the outside. If you are feeling in need of a change, maybe today is the day to paint a new self-portrait.

How do most of us gauge our image? We look through the lenses of others. What they see shapes who we are. There is something wrong with that picture for sure.… Continue

Woodstock: Talking About My Generation

I’m officially “on vacation” this week, and am taking this opportunity to post a 5-part “Retro” series….about me.

I’m opening up a little window here … normally I’m a pretty private person, but I think that it’s about time that my readers get to know a little bit more about “grandmom.”

Now I wasn’t born this age, although my kids think I was. Once upon a time, I was young, like many of my readers, with dreams and aspirations, like so many dewy-eyed young things.

Life and experience though, so… Continue

The whole blogosphere and Twitter is abuzz now that BlogHer09 is in full swing. The Lazy Environmentalist On A Budget - Book Review and Giveaway

Everywhere I go I see that people and companies are trying to become more environmentally friendly. I became aware of the Green Movement back when I was in high school in the 1970s.

I’ve recently had the opportunity to review a new book that clears up many questions you may have and how to become more aware of ways to start going green in your own home. (Read More)
