I have more than 80 blogs in my feed reader and comment almost every time they write a post. I haven't seen much in return though. I've gained a lot more readers through Twitter than anything I think.

If you just want to do photos, you can set up Flickr accounts and mark them so that only Family and Friends can see them. You can also make a private blog, so that only people you invite can see it. I did that for a while for family members. There...
