Is your avatar related to LIFEGIFT? The logo looks similar to a run my family participated in last summer-in honor of my sister in law who'd had great success with a liver transplant! She passed away last Christmas due to an illness unrelated to transplant, but wanted to say THANKS!

I didn't know that they had a Transplant Olympics - how neat is that. Maddie is special needs, she is our youngest daughter, and she competes in the Special Olympics. Last year, she won the bronze in running. This year she did AWESOME, winning a gold and a silver in the Spring Games and then winning a bronze in the Summer Games. It is an amazing experience to just attend these Olympics - nothing like a "normal" sporting event!
She is GREAT now - 22 years old and a tomboy to boot!! Go figure! She is the toughest girl I have ever known (well besides me) and plays soccer like a boy (I mean that seriously as she actually played on the coed teams and was probably the best player they had). You would never know by looking at her now that she was a preemie!!
Thanks for the wonderful comment! Have a Great evening!
Hi Crystal. Welcome to Twittermoms. Your life sounds busy, but enjoyable. We, also, had a preemie baby, although not as serious as yours, but she was born 10 weeks too early. Laundry and housecleaning, I know that especially lately as I just can't seem to find the time to "get it all done".
I am a working wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend. I married the perfect man of my dreams almost 6 years ago and together we are trying to make the pieces fit. We have two wonderful children. One we fought to bring into this world as we struggled with infertility, the other we fought to keep in this world after he was born with a congenital heart defect and needed a heart transplant before he was even a month old. Between working, doctor appointments, play dates, and potty training sometimes the laundry doesn't get done and the house isn't always clean but we always find time to laugh and enjoy the little moments we call life.
