A little about yourself...
Hi, I'm a mompreneur of a 6 year old diva and a 3 year old little man. My journey to having them was not a smooth one, both were high risk pregnancies. Living that experience made me realize how poor care of the mom is in that situation. I first created a fitness DVD for moms on bed rest, Bedrest Fitness, and now am creating a new set of services called Bedrest Comfort & Care that will cater to the needs of moms on prescribed bed rest. I welcome your thoughts and suggestions. Website will launch this Friday, March 13th.

Mother Friendly Childbirths for All Mamas

I had the great fortune to attend The Coalition for Improving Maternity Services Annual Forum the weekend of February 26-27 here in Austin, TX. This is my first CIMS meeting and it truly lived up to all that I've ever heard about CIMS.

CIMS is made up of individuals and groups that are passionate about preserving natural childbirth and helping all mothers to have natural childbirths. They advocate a midwife model of care which accentuates freedom of movement while in labor, the abili… Continue

When Love Hurts:Domestic Violence during pregnancy

While it's a hard concept to fathom, the reality is that many women are abused-both physically and emotionally-while they are pregnant. The most common reason for abuse during pregnancy is that it is a continuation of pre-pregnancy abuse. Women who are abused prior to pregnancy are at increased risk of being abused during the pregnancy. Domestic abuse during pregnancy is also the result of:

* Stress related to the pregnancy-especially if the pregnancy was unintended.
* Financial concerns regard… Continue

Words of Wisdom from Mamas for Mamas

A mama-to-be had finally gotten pregnant after 2 years of trying. Now
it seems that her cervix is shortening and is a centimeter shorter than
where it should be for this point in her pregnancy (second trimester
about 22 or 24 weeks). She was asking anyone who read her post to
please pray for her health and for the health of her baby, for her
cervix to stop shrinking, for preterm labor not to occur and for her
baby to be born healthy. She was starting bed rest.

I am constantly amazed and… Continue

Hi Darlene,
Thanks so much for your interest in our book - it is available on Amazon - but it is not looking real pretty at the moment (we are getting some reviews on their and improving the book description - takes Amazon ages to change anything). Would love you to include on your blog. Here is the link http://www.amazon.com/Triumphant-Child-Caring-Your-Newborn/dp/0982284128/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1270252402&sr=1-1

Here is an article with the best pre-post natal exercises. They are what got me through 4 pregnancies. While not exactly yoga poses they are extremely effective and can be done lying in bed - bonus!

If you want/need more information let me know or I can write an article and you can post it with links back to my site.

Hi Darline,

Thanks for the comment. That was a very nice thing you said. I'm past the child bearing years and am actually looking forward to being a Grammy, some day. We lost our first one, so now we wait again. I will take a look at you site and refer my daughter when the time comes. Thanks for being my friend.

Hey Girl how are you? I have created a website that has made my children smile as well as others, & I want to share it with you. WWW.DEAR-SANTACLAUS.NET sends children personalized letters from Santa Claus. I remember when I was a little girl and I received a letter from Santa it was a memory I still hold dear to my heart. I started sending my own children letters, then my nieces & nephews. They all loved it. the excitement and energy was beautiful. It's already setting the tone for the holiday season. I encourage all you mothers to visit my website you wont be disappointed and your children will absolutely love it! Also Visit MAKESOMEONEHAPPY.ORG & order an "Letter of Encouragement". Same Concept just now letters are sent to: Troops overseas, mom, dad, any and everyone.

Hi Darlene,
I could have used your DVD four years ago when I was on bedrest for three months. I'll make sure to share it with my friend who was just put on bedrest.
Glad you were able to be a blessing in Trinadad. Going global is always a blessing.
