I have a pie in the oven...it is an Orange Sponge pie. I took one of my favorite recipes (Lemon Sponge Pie) and tweaked it. I wont know how it turns out until after dinner tonight. I have to admit I rarely make pie. Which is terrible considering my hubby LOVES pie more than most things in the world. I do however make lots of cakes, because Im lazy and they come in boxes. Today was a slow day. I managed to get the summer clothes put up and got out our fall/winter clothes. Now Im expecting a string of hot days that will make me wish I had left at least a few of the warm weather clothes out. That happens to me every year. After lunch I made cookies...ok, I cant really take full credit for them. They were the kind that you just scoop out of the bucket and cook but my kids didnt seem to mind. We have a travel trailer and we make several camping trips each year. We usually go to the Jersey Shore, PA and MD. But for every real trip we take we usually take one or two trips to the backyard. Yep, we camp at home. No, we dont have a campfire or anything like that but we do pack up some snacks and head to our home-away-from-home. The kids love it and so do we. Well, today started off very innocent. One of the local neighborhoods were having their annual yardsale and I talked DH into going. The boys need some fall and winter clothes and what better to buy then some gently used yardsale items! So off we go....kids in their car seats and me with my decaf. Within a matter of minutes we had clothes, a crockpot, a movie and TOYS! yes, toys.....how can you pass on 50cent Tonka trucks? Oh, I wish I had a penny for everytime I started doing the flylady program (www.flylady.net)....maybe then I would have enough money to pay for a housekeeper. Seriously, how do such small children and two adults make such huge messes and why cant I get them to help me clean up. I am totally lacking in this department and need some serious work.
