Hi - sorry to take so long to respond...on the road and in Calgary and Edmonton this week and heading back home on Monday - always a challenge on someone else's computer...on the hunt for a new lap top. Kelowna will probably be a 'stop" for us by late summer for business...unless I manage to get there sooner...right now enjoying the balmy 10 degrees in Calgary - beats the -29 without windchill!!

Hi Eleanor - thanks for the welcome. I see you live in BC not sure where but I really haven't found too many places there that are not absolutely incredible...Kelowna is a fav. Harrison Hot Springs, my brother lives in Victoria and we are out there quite often. Nearly forgot - relatives on Salt Spring Island!! I too watched the Oprah show where she said to get back at it - part of what I love doing is encouraging and empowering women to do all they can and succeed at what they put their mind too. Would love to to connect more.

You've reminded me how much we like it and I'm gonna get some more, too. Thank you!

What else sounds good to you just now?

Blessings...

Hi, Eleanor,

I am very happy to be a part of budding tastes! So, you are from BC, Canada. Oh, so beautiful there. One of my favorite summer vacations was spent in Vancouver area. Just lovely. I think the Northwest is so gorgeous.

Just curious, why would jicama not be good for you raw? I cannot imagine eating it any other way.

Haven't been to the Nourishing Moms group today yet. But rest assured that jicama is good for you raw :)

Blessings!

Thanks for commenting. As far as my weight loss goes, it is and has always been, a struggle for me. My biggest "downfall" really was multiple injuries that kept me from exercising and also depression. It took a major devastating event to get me on my journey to weight loss and to get me to start putting myself on the list (like Oprah said the other night - ha!) I had spent so much of my life caring for others and giving and giving that I never took care of myself.

So the devastating event (which I won't go into) helped me to decide to take care of myself. (That - at least - was a positive outcome.) I guess there is that turning point for each of us - and it is different for each of us. But once I started healing - I was able to start moving toward health. And it is still not easy. But I would encourage each of you to consider putting yourself back on your list. Since this is a Twitter"Moms" list, I imagine we are all in that boat to some extent. I have to daily recommit to eating healthy and I do fall off the plan sometimes. I just keep trying to pick myself up and get back with the program. So...I hope these comments help a little.

Did you see the response in Nourishing Moms as to why some raw foods are actually not so good for you?

Blessings!
