Hey, how are you? I was just thinking of you. I have been asked to make a scrapbook of my friend, Jerry's, tribute cards that were given at the funeral. I have a few ideas, but am sort of worried about it because I want it to be just "perfect". Any ideas?

Thanks Gayle. I appreciate your prayers. Visitation is tomorrow and funeral on Sat. My dh and I will be greeters for the visitation. I think it will be hard seeing so many that are grieving. Hopefully, we can keep it together - at least for that part. Talk to you soon.

Hi Gayle, Great to hear from you. We just got home from a few days up North in a condo - it was BEAUTIFUL! and FUN! We needed a break. It is great that my 23 yr old son is living in our basement so he could just take over for taking my 14 yr old wherever she needed to go and just be here for her. He teaches so gets done every day at 2:30.
However, the day we came home (Mon.) we discovered that one of our closest friends had died of a massive heart attack at 59. We are all devastated right now and trying to cope with the loss. I was just numb yesterday, but feeling more like a can get through the day today. Sometimes it is impossible to understand "why" so I just have to trust God through all of this.

Hope all is well down on your end. It is REALLY cold here - 4 degrees. Too cold for playing outside. : ) Keep in touch!

Yes, that's very helpful. Thank you for explaining. I don't know how everyone finds the time to do all this social networking! I'm just dipping my toes in, so I'll see how it goes.

Oh yeah, I noticed that the dog in your profile pic is a chocolate lab - i think. I have had 2 in my life and my dad and brother each had 2. I love those dogs - so smart and fun. Unfortunately, my first one got hit by a car on my birthday several years ago- I had just let her out for a few min. and before I knew it, she was gone. I was devasted - never really got over it. Now we just have a mut and a kitty.

Hi Gayle, Thanks for commenting back to me. We are still sort of snowed in up here! I like it all a lot, except when it is too cold to get out. And it has been that way for a while now. Hope to go skiing tomorrow. It is neat that you have a place in TN that you can go to. The Smokies are one of my favorite places to vacation. Love to hike in the mountains. I also like to scrapbook, but I am more of a "supply collector" than actual scrapbooker. I really don't get too much done. I sort of go in spurts. But I do love it.
We bought a piece of property up North near Mackinaw City on a small lake and hope to build a retirement/vacation home up there. (If the economy ever levels out!) But we love going up there. Hope to hear from you again soon.

Hi Gayle, I just followed you on Twitter and was intrigued by your profile. As a dog loving, homeschooling, work at home mom want to share your secret to balance!

I have not done well in the scrapbooking area and have one page in my 11 year old daughter's album. Sad, I know.

It is a pleasure meeting you! If I can support you in any way, please, let me know!

Hi there, It was good to hear a little more about you. I have a friend who does leader dogs and has one dog that she uses as a therapy dog. She is a standard poodle. We have one dog - a mut - part golden and part border collie - and one cat - a spoiled one at that. But the kids love them. We are just approaching the mid-term of our school year at our co-op. My dd moves back to school tomorrow, although she is not all that far away (30 mi.) and is home several nights a week, because she co-ops at a company closer to us than to her school. It's been fun having all the college kids around over break. I'm sort of sad to see them go. I see you are in the sunny south. We have lots of snow here. I like that so we can go skiing. However, I've been sick with a cold this week and haven't been able to go. I'm hoping by tomorrow, I'll be well enough to go. It is beautiful out in the woods in the snow. Have a great day tomorrow.
