After nearly 2 feet of snow in the last 2 weeks in Ohio and temperatures between 0 and 20 degrees, today was down-right tropical at 50. It is starting to feel like Spring!

Oh, wow, 4 months is not long to go, is it? Yes, I'm on Facebook but not very active there at this time.
That just made me think, maybe I can hunt those friends up on Facebook! They are such gracious people and I'm sure would be glad to make your acquaintance, if still in Perth. I'll keep you posted. And let's hook up on Facebook, too, k?

Blessings!

Oooh, that month trip sounds wonderful, Helen! I have American friends who are/were in Perth for many years, haven't been in touch for quite a while, so not sure. Hmm...should see if I can look them up on Facebook :)

And you, do you have friends and/or family there?

Blessings!

Ah, I've not been to the east coast of my own country yet. Glad you liked my myspace page. If you didn't read the big red lips blog there, I invite you to :)

I don't recall, did you say when you plan to move? And, do you have friends there already?

Blessings!

We lived in N.E. Thailand. Funny thing, we were the only foreign family in the entire province (and beyond) but ended up with a foreign exchange student from Australia as a close neighbor (poor kid had wanted to go to the US but got sent to that rural place in Thailand instead). It turned out to be a great arrangement. We 'rescued' him from a monotonous time there, and fed him food he really appreciated, and my kids appreciated having him for a friend.

We always wanted to visit down under but haven't made it yet. Have you visited my fun page yet at www.myspace.com/annduncan ?

Blessings!

Oh, I was too sleepy when I answered your last message, sorry. I'd rightly assumed WA meant West Australia, but then somehow ended up thinking Washington State, ha! I have traveled a lot but not yet made it to your part of the world. Only got as far as SE Asia, where I lived for 13 yrs. Again, so sorry!

A blessed rest of the weekend to you :)

Are We Expecting Our Children To read Too early?

A few weeks ago I noticed a full page advertisement in our city’s newspaper titled “YOUR BABY CAN READ” which as a childcare worker got my attention.

When I began to read this I was shocked at the notion that this was encouraging children to learn to read when they are as young as just 9 months. I know that there are prodigies out there but isn’t this going a bit too far!

Are we encouraging our children to read too quickly and are we expecting them to grow up before they are ready? Let them b… Continue
