Amazingly enough, my children are in a heated discussion yet again in the car. Why is it they only fight in the confined space of the car? So, here’s the tale end… Me: I do think that baby [doll] is wonderful! You can save your money for it. ...

I like to pack a variety of finger foods for lunch. The kids only get 22 minutes and really, that's their only time to really cut up and freely talk about the latest toy. So I mix and match 3 carrot sticks, 3 grapes, 3 chunks of cheese, maybe a yo...

Hello everyone!

I have to admit, I'm new to technology, scared, but willing and wanting to learn. I love to read, watch movies (2 hour escape), match my undies to my outfit, bit OCD about organizing closets...okay the whole house, travel, playing volleyball, and getting massages. How often do I get to do those things? More now that I've changed my focus...but that is causing issues with others who were so used to me doing everything for them (hubby, other family, friends)

I have 2 special needs children : son with Asperger's and daughter with Osteogenesis Imperfecta type III (severe brittle bones). Never a dull moment in my house :) Since I've changed my life, their lives have turned for the better as well. Funny how that works.

I work full time for a bowling pro shop distributor and am writing a book for SPED moms called "Martyrdom Sucks: A Survival Guide for Moms of Special Needs Kids". It's about being a woman first, mom second....which is double hard to do when your kids have double the needs. I have an agent and am shopping for a publisher. If any of you would like to contribute your thoughts and advice to other moms, I'll gladly add it in!! By no means do I think I've got a corner market on knowledge. I fully believe in lifting the whole community to prosper.

I look forward to exchanging loves, laughs, and irks with everyone!

Amazing Women

Believe it or not, I’ve added another hat to my life – Daisy Scout leader. My son has been in Cub Scouts for three years and loves it, so my daughter has been waiting patiently for her turn. I thought it would be much easier for me to be the leader than ask another mom to adapt everything for Sami. Luckily, I have a neighbor who will be my co-leader if something happens (gee, like a break) and I can’t be there.

The good little student that I am, I’ve been reading about the Girl Scouts for the p… Continue

Sami's birthday

9-24-09

Well, today is Samantha’s 6th birthday and we just finished a birthday breakfast at Panera. When I think back to the beginning of her life I’m amazed at how far she has come. This is our story….

At my 20 week sonogram appointment, the doctor told us that the little girl inside me had very short and bowed limbs. His face, though, told me more – sorrow and regret. Something was very wrong. We were quickly referred to the specialists at St. Luke’s. (In case you’re wondering, an adult cann… Continue

Beauty

Even though I work full time all year, when the kids go to school I feel like starting over. I do my resolutions in Sept rather than Jan. This year I want to concentrate on my beauty, inside and out.

Did you know it’s estimated that French women spend one third of their salaries on beauty products and one third on lingerie? Can you imagine spending 2/3 of your salary just on yourself? What a luxury!

Well, I’ve decided that I’m going to make more conscious decisions about the time and money I s… Continue
