I had something so much more NYC, high-powered in mind. But here I sit in a aging rowhome in a blue-collar working class neighborhood in MD, blogging about life in the handicapped lane!
Seriously, I hope to blog about life in this unique family. Sometimes it will be uplifting, sometimes not. Just like life.

www.wrongplanet.net - Online resource and community for those with Asperger's Syndrome.
www.sleepfoundation.org - Organization for the advocacy of sleep disorders. Attended a conference through them this year on Sleep, Learning and Memory.
www.rsdhope.org - RSD/CRPS site. The first site I found back in 2003, when I first became discovered I had RSD. They have changed so much in five years. Validates my time of pain, when no one understood
www.disaboom.com - Disaboom. I like this site because it is another affirming website for Multi-abled People. Check them out.

Bio
I am the member of a very unique family.
I am a wife to a wonderful husband (sometimes!) and mom to two fabulous boys. While that sounds ordinary, each of us battles different chronic illnesses or diseases. We all look perfectly normal on the outside, but we have struggles that make it difficult to function in the outside world.
I will talk about myself first. Even though I am enrolled in University of Phoenix, I struggle with barriers in my life, both from within and from without.

I am here because I really enjoy social communities and have really begun to enjoy Twitter.
One of the first I joined was Invisible Disabilities Advocate. Here is their home page. Now I belong to 4, depending on the niche of community. Cyberspace is so big, but I don't mind. The more, the better! I have come across many new friends, products, services and support.

- Hi JudiElise, I will keep you in my prayers. Everything with me is well. I am debating if I want to finish up at UOP or finish at the nearby community college. Tuition is extremely expensive and I have to finish online. Have much to think about. I will keep you posted. Thanks for asking.

Kyra said… - I actually just got my books today! I am so excited I already started looking thru them. I am taking Old Testament History and Psychology 101. I got actual textbooks I haven't figured out if they offer their books online or not but the only good thing is that I got the Pell Grant and Teach Grant then whatever else will roll over to a Student loan which maybe around a grand a semester. So its not too bad. Anyway my books are included in my financial aid.
How far do you have to go for your AA and what are you thinking about getting your Bachelors in?

- Thanks for the add and for the support! I know I will need it in the weeks to come. I start my first class on June 15th and actually just got my books this morning and oh me oh my what I have in store for me, but the light that I know is at the end of the tunnel is all worth it. And my other half is so very supportive that will help immensely and he is just as excited about it as I am.
Anyway to the question you asked me I taking online classes from Grand Canyon University out of Phoenix.
