My name is Kara Norman and I am a mother of two girls, ages 10 and 5. I've been married for 11 years to my wonderful husband. We live in the Atlanta area. I have longed to live a more fulfilling life in which I was able to work with women and girls. Being a part of this site is helping to make one of those a reality. Recently I partnered with a friend of mine and we are launching an empowerment group for pre-teens in the Atlanta area. I also serve as the moderator/facilitator of a new online social network for teens girls ages 12-18 called EMGirls http://emwomen.ning.com/group/emgirls.
Jewels is a subsidiary of G.E.M.S - Girls Empowered By Morals and Standards a charitable organization for teenage girls between the age of 13 and 17.

EMGIRL~NEW ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORK FOR GIRLS 13-18!
Hey Moms! If you are like me your are addicted to your social networks online, such an amazing way to connect, network and be a part of something amazing! With this in mind if you know of any teen girls ages 13-18 who are in love with myspace or facebook, please send them my information and have them join EMGirls and new EMpowering group for girls!
Join me as we seek to create a new generation of girls to lead our future! What do EMwomen and EMgirls have in common? They are both dedicated to raising up future leaders who use their lives to make a difference in the world. Whether you are mom, checking out the group, or a young woman looking to connect with other girls with a passion to change the world, EMgirls is all about providing a positive place of connection, interaction, creativity, education, community service, and fun for teen and pre-teen girls that promotes a higher standard of living, purity, and excellence. Will you help us "RE-Invent BEAUTIFUL" by partnering with us to invite your friends and help us create a network of girls that don't set their top priority on "looking beautiful", but instead, set their aim on "living beautiful". Together, we can reinvent the way girls and women think about themselves, and the way we look at others.
Interesting video about how the media influences our girls:
OUR MISSION:To EMpower Girls to recognize and fulfill their unique potential by instilling leadership skills, fostering critical thinking, supporting their individual potential, helping them overcome limiting behaviors, and by re-inventing "beautiful" as a word that describes the inner beauty of a girl as seen in her service and love for others. We believe that every girl has the potential to change the world, and EMgirls can help her do it! We encourage you to invite your friends to the EMgirls group and begin using your "online" time to make friends that make a difference!
Kara Norman, the moderator of the EMgirls Group, comes to our team with an amazing passion for educating, motivating, and inspiring young women to step beyond their limitations into a life of greatness. Her experience and life-story qualify her, not only as a woman of great leadership, but as a "girl" who can relate to the struggles so many young women face today. Check out her full bio and passion for girls in the discussion "Kara Cares" on EMGirls website.

Magazine Ad from Ralph Lauren
Hello Jewels Girls!
Take a good look at this photo from a Ralph Lauren ad. What do you think about the model in this ad? I was shocked and horrified that such a leading fashion designer would think that this ad is appealing to a woman/girl… Continue
With a show of 'virtual hands' how many of you lovely ladies knew that March is National Women's History Month? Okay to be honest I almost forgot as well, which is truly a shame, but really how much do we hear about this wonderful month to honor, recognize and remember gr… Continue
I am shocked and horrified about the allegations that Chris Brown, a famous R&B Singer, was arrested for domestic violence against a female/his girlfriend Rhianna. As a mom, Chris Brown was one of the few singers that I felt had a pretty positive message compared to… Continue
Have you ever heard of a blog calendar with all of the important dates, holidays, special events that have occurred throughout history? I used to have a blog calendar, but I've misplaced it! If you have a link or pdf to a blog calendar, please send me a message and I'll send you my email address so you can send me the pdf copy or a link. Thanks!
Hey girlfriend! Just stopping in to say hello because I was thinking of you and your work. My second grader is starting to tune into our culture's "beauty messages," and I want to raise both my girls to believe in their own beauty, intelligence and power. We'll have to browse your site together next time we're on the computer!
Have a fun Halloween with your girls! :)

Hi Kara! I'm Beatrice. Here for all of the Moms interested in recovering their pre-child figure. My garments correct the posture, lift the breasts, flatten and strengthen the abdomen, eliminate all back fat as well as lift and firm the rear. With consistent wear, healthy eating, and light exercise, the garment will mold the body into a more appeasing shape. For more info feel free to message me or email me at ardyssintrep@yahoo.com.
Hope that you are enjoying Motherhood. :-)
Hey Kara - thanks for saying hi again! How are your Jewels girls? And your big girls, with their school transitions? Love your new photos of them... you all are gorgeous. Best of luck to you guys this school year! xoxo
Kara, Love your website. I so believe in helping girls see the beauty of who they are. With all the media they see everyday, it is easy to see why their confidence is lacking sometimes. I run a charm school for girls, and the main focus is for the girls to realize their true selfs and potential. It is so rewarding and fun to see the girls blossum into confident and happy young ladies. Keep up the great work.
Best, Denise
