Hurray! So glad you are doing this...we are mostly gluten-free here in our home and it's often a challenge. I can't wait to learn more about your books for kids.

A little about yourself...
I am passionate about helping the next generation of girls experience a healthy, nourishing, delicious relationship with food, eating and their bodies. I believe in the importance of the mom-daughter relationship (and the collective strength of moms) as a powerful vehicle in creating these changes for our daughters. I am working on my first book on this topic.
I'm also a mom of two kids (8 year old boy, and 6 year old girl), a wife, a lover of dogs (and a dog "mother" to Bacchus).
What kinds of things do you typically Twitter about?
i am just starting to twitter regularly - family, food, eating, body image, culture, media, and things that inspire me
What are your areas of interest?
mommyhood, fitness, weight loss, writing

My Rant About The Media

Did you read the article in the New York times several months ago, “What’s Eating Our Kids? Fears About ‘Bad’ Foods”?

My first thought was, “Oh my gosh, am I creating an eating disorder in my children because I am feeding them – and teaching them about – healthy foods?” And then it hit me: “PLEEEEAAASE…give me a break, media. Don’t you get it? YOU are making us crazy!”

On the one hand, the media “feeds” us images upon images of the way girls and women (and boys and men) are “supposed to” look.… Continue

Great to have you here! We've got an incredible group of women connecting on all sorts of topics, so kick back and make yourself at home. Check out the Twittermoms groups (we have something for everybody). The Twittermoms discussions are quite entertaining, too. Or, just get to know your fellow Twittermoms by browsing some Twittermoms profiles or searching for moms who share your interests, add friends, and start twittering with some incredibly smart and interesting moms.

PS: Let your friends know when you're on twittermoms with a click of the Announce Yourself link in your welcome box. If your Twitter friends are interested, they can check out the cool new place you've found!

Again -- if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know.

Welcome to our Nourishing Moms group :)

So you homeschool your two? I homeschooled my first 4, but unschool my youngest.

Blessings!

Thank you, Karen, that sounds WONDERFUL!

Best thing for me today, so far, has been a fax with good news I was hoping for.

I invite you, should you be so inclined, to read my blog on why I ask the 'best question'
and value it so highly in my everyday life - at www.myspace.com/annduncan

I look forward to your thoughts on the Nourishing Moms group (speaking of baby steps,
I have a wee website on a super simple step people can take to improve health -
www.SoupMagic.com) and look forward to connecting with you more, too!

Blessings...

Welcome to our Mom Cooks Gluten Free group, Karen. I also invite you to our Nourishing Moms group, this way of eating has revolutionized our family health, and just happens to be mostly gluten free. I feel strongly about promoting REAL food, not merely leaving out gluten. So often see GF folk chowing down on non-real food and know that is not supporting their overall health. Ok, now I'm back off my soap-box :)

I like your blog name and appreciate your blogs. I always pack real food along when I travel, even when just going out on errands, so we we don't get stuck hungry without healthy options. And am big on 'baby steps'!

Blessings...
