Thanks for the welcome :) Our 5 1/2 year old son was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease just over a month ago and we are still adjusting to a gluten free diet. He was so sick from mid-November til January - he lost a bunch of weight and was lethar...

Hi I'm mom to 3 kids ... our middle son is 5 1/2 years old and has Down syndrome and was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease. We are adjusting to cooking gluten free which is a bit of a challenge! I am a huge advocate for "People First Language...
A place for moms who deal with those special challenges in raising their kids and use social media as a way to connect.
Gluten (found in wheat, rye, barley and oats) has been linked to conditions such as celiac, autism, ADHD, rheumatoid arthritis, infertility, depression etc.! I have written children's books on healthy eating and am working on a gluten free menu book!

- Welcome to Mom Cooks Gluten Free, Katrina. And congrats on the encouraging results already! I invite you to take a peek at Nourishing Moms, as well, which promotes a very healthy return to old ways of cooking that kept many of today's ills at bay. Interesting that much of the Nourishing Traditions tends toward gluten free.
What area are you in? One of my daughters recently moved from the Abbotsford are to ON and is really missing BC.
