Here is a link that might be able to tell you how to use Twitter.
My experience is just what you did, jump in with a Twit and make
yourself known! Look at the profiles of ladies and see if you have
anything in common. The way you do that is click on the pictures
that will take you to their personal page.. oh, and you might want
to just check out the blogs, or discussion and see if anything interests you. Respond to some of them or one person in particular, and see if they respond back to you, then click on the link that says
Do you want to be friends, or something like that (can't remember
the exact words.) You will be suprised at how fast you start
twittering!! If you have any questions, I would be glad to help in
anyway I can!
