- Our pediatrician who specializes in adolescents at The University of Missouri was fine with my son being vegetarian. Said he's healthier and will probably continue to be healthier than most of his patients. His only concern was that he not become deficient in vitamin B12. Dairy products supply B12, so it's probably good for your daughter to keep some dairy in her diet. Here's to smart kids who eat well!
