Yikes! I think that if you put yourself out there as a writer, particularly a published one, you ought to be prepared to read critiques of your work. That's really true of so many professions. A chef in a restaurant doesn't expect everyone to love...

How many published books does she have compared to your numerous blog posts? A writer usually only conforms to one theme whereas a mommy blogger can write about the world! I agree, she is feeling threatened by your creativity! Oh by the way, I'm C...

I have known several kids who went on Where There Be Dragons trips. These are programs in less-traveled places (Uganda!) for very intrepid students. The first 10 days on any program abroad is going to be difficult, especially those with homestays....

It is sad that so many people think they are so much better than others. What make them think that they know so much more than the rest of us. Even though she has published a book, I am sure that a proof reader found errors in her work. I would lo...

Most of us are fortunate to live in places where the freedom of speech is still allowed. It would be a sad day if we weren't allowed to pass a comment on something of interest to us. Your well-known author won't be well-known for long with that ki...

Apparently she doesn't take criticism well. Last I checked the act of giving birth does not exclude someone from the profession of writing, nor make their opinion less worthy.

You know what, don't worry about her and her hang ups. You just keep doing what you do! You're a threat, that's why she responded as she did!

I just received an insult from a well-known author in response to an article I wrote. The "Losing It" article is on www.mommytracked.com and is part of the column I write called "Saving The World One Teen At A Time". I guess the author didn't like...

A little about yourself...
I'm a mom of 5 (ages 17, 8, 8, 5, and 1) but not looking for my own reality series. My mom titles include: young mom, single mom, re-married mom, twin mom, and mom over-40. I've worked as a commercial actress for companies like McDonalds, Ford, Maxwell House, Nabisco, Proctor & Gamble, Visa, and Chevrolet. My film credits include a tiny role with Joan Cusack, an even tinier scene with Robin Williams, and a 2 second shot of my golf swing in WALL-E...but at least I can say I won an Academy Award for that film...sort of. I've given up on LA scene and now in my spare time, I write and am launching a column with Mommytrackd.com this fall. Come and visit me there!

Heaven Is Forever, You Dummy!

Both our family pets died yesterday.

The fish news was a tough message to deliver, but telling the kids about the cat was devastating. The day before, Lily the cat was playing in the yard with the kids. The next morning, she was on the garage floor as we walked passed to get in the car for the frantic rush to school. There was a certain stiffness, stillness to her that I picked up on with my mom vibe and I felt my stomach drop. As I rushed the kids in the car, my daughter began to wring her han… Continue

Whoops I Did It Again! Another Hormonal Haircut

Seems like every couple of years, I have a moment where I can't take my hair anymore and I decide that I'm either going to cut it myself or I'm going to find someone to cut it for me...immediately...and I start calling salon numbers in the yellow pages to find the first available hair stylist within a 100-mile radius. Usually, as I settle into the newly-found stylist's chair, I find myself saying things like: "I don't care. Do whatever. I just want a change. I'd like to look more current." This… Continue

Do you have a Twitter account? What do you tweet about?

I tweet about my fight with breast cancer and being a brand new mom. I am trying to find more people to follow me so that my story will help spread awareness:
