A little about yourself...
Laura Campbell, founder of The D Spot, is savvy enough to recognize a huge need when she sees it and offer an innovative solution that has an impact. Laura has the experience and confidence to impress even the toughest hiring manager in the business world, yet she channels it into nurturing a growing online community of women with one common tie – divorce. Through her company, The D Spot, and its companion website, www.discoverthedspot.com, Laura Campbell is poised and focused on her ultimate aspiration and the goal of all her work: helping women regroup, renew and reinvent themselves before, during and after divorce.

Laura, herself divorced from the father of her two young sons, freely admits that she “realized that she wasn’t fully prepared for the challenges” associated with the dissolution of her marriage. Her experience as a business professional, combined with her extensive education and tenure as a wife and mother, did little to help her navigate the process on her own. Once Laura recognized that the resources she needed were not readily available, this energetic entrepreneur began a journey to help other women in her same situation. At that moment, The D Spot was born.

Prior to launching The D Spot, this accomplished speaker, writer and workshop leader wore many hats in the business world. Initially, Laura gained experience as a financial analyst, project manager and strategic planner. Her passion for community outreach, marketing management, and leadership training and development eventually guided her toward teaching and program development. After experiencing a career transition that occurred at the time of her divorce, Laura discovered her love of planning, organizational management and cause-related marketing. Soon she opened Laura Campbell Consulting, a boutique firm focused on providing community building, staff recruitment and retention, communications and marketing, and leadership development guidance to the non-profit sector in the Greater New Haven, CT area. Not being one to allow her circumstances to dictate her path, Laura combined her business knowledge with her frustration over the lack of divorce resources for women and created The D Spot.

Through The D Spot and her coaching practice, Laura works with women from all over the country who are facing the uncertainty of divorce. Her commitment is to help these women find balance in and control over their time, emotions and lives. Laura’s work includes speaking, writing, and leading seminars and workshops in critical areas relating to divorce. In addition to managing emotions and finding balance, the other topics include life and relationship transitions, facing finances, finding your life purpose, effective co-parenting, and mastering communication. According to Laura, “Divorce is not an end, it is a beginning. Make sure each step you take moves you closer to creating and achieving an extraordinary life.”

When she’s not focusing her energy on her two sons or The D Spot, Laura is also a contributing expert for Smart Women’s Coaching and producer of events for the 2008 Momference Series. She is also proud to be a member of the International Federation of Coaches and sits on the advisory board of the Life Purpose Institute.
