- In the business world, I am the creator and editor of Root & Sprout, a parenting website established May 2008. I'm also the administrator of Grow Together, Root & Sprout's social-networking site located at http://www.GrowTogether.ning.com.
My husband and I, who've been married 10 years, have three children: Hannah (9), Jacob (7) and Bridget (3). Like most kids, they keep me on my toes.
I am currently working on editing an adult fiction book that I began writing in November 2008, and writing the first-in-series of young-adult fiction books. I enjoy gardening and just hanging out at home with my family in my spare time.

My seven-year-old son, Jacob, recently spent a few days with his grandparents. My in-laws are some of the most patient and kid-friendly people I have ever met, and they are lovely individuals. They also have very good intentions and want only the best for their grandchildren.

That Thing Called "Balance"
It just doesn't exist.
I can't believe I'm about to admit this because it goes against how I'd normally behave, but I worked through dinner the other night. And it wasn't as though I was working in the next room. My "office" is currently my dining room table, so I sat in front of my laptop (dinner perched precariously on legs) while my husband and three children ate around me. What's worse, I was fully aware of the sideways glances from all of them. I could just hear their silent questioning, "… Continue
