WELCOME TO TWITTERMOMS!

By the way, do you draw, paint, take photos, etc? How about the kids? Looking for original art for Art Cards for Soldiers!

Soldiers serving abroad have many needs, but one of the ones that comes at the top of their wish list, are cards to send home to their loved ones. Most soldiers are serving in remote locations with little available in the way of luxuries or basics like writing materials. This gives the soldiers a way to celebrate the occasions they’re missing.

Rather than shop the isles at Hallmark, we have called in the favors of artist friends and are providing beautiful, original art cards made especially for them, to theses brave and wonderful men and women as our way of saying
thanks.

We’ll send these to any active service member through eMail our Military, and soon you’ll be able to purchase a set to have sent by MOM to a deserving soldier or you can purchase them for your own use! We’re so excited to be providing these beautiful art cards to people who deserve only the best for sacrificing so much - time away from the ones they love.

How can you help? We need your original art scanned and sent to us or one card that we can scan. All the details are on the site (see below) or email if you have questions.

Special thanks to the artists for sharing their amazing talents and eMail our Military for supporting this effort.

Visit the ART CARDS FOR SOLDIERS site to see the artwork already donated and for details and PLEASE PASS THIS ON! It would make a great kid project - Scouts, Church, etc.

Welcome, Liz!! Wow...your quick little story gave me chills. Helping others who have similar situations is so generous of your time and emotions. I hope that not only do you find comfort and support from other women here, but that your kindness touches someone here as well. =)

A little about yourself...
I'm a mother to 3 children, 2 here on earth (Kaitlyn age 3 and Quinn age 3 months), 1 in heaven. My life changed forever when I had an amnio on my twin pregnancy, which caused my water to break when I was 17 weeks pregnant. I delivered my beloved twin daughters at 26 weeks, each weighing 1.5 pounds each. Sadly, my first born daughter Corinne passed away a few hours in my arms. My surviving daughter spent 4 months in the NICU and still has issues today from her prematurity.

My newborn son was also premature (only 6 weeks) and spent a short 3 weeks in the NICU. He is doing great with no signs of his prematurity.

I run multiple support groups relating to prematurity, especially for this children born weighing under 2 pounds at birth.

Pumping Queen

Yes, I'm officially an expert breast pumper. I never imagined that would be my claim to fame, but I seem to be able to produce a lot of breast milk.

Here's the picture of my freezer when my daughter came home from the NICU 3 years ago:
Go to my blog to see it.

I've now been pumping for Quinn for 3.5 months. I'm WELL ahead of his needs milk wise. Why do I continue pumping?

1. I continue to hold out the hope that one of these… Continue
