It really is tough to get a following and feels like everyone is blogging. I had a pretty good following but I stopped blogging for a good long time and am just coming back. commenting early and regularly on others blogs seems the key.
If you build yourself a little corner in the internet - by posting regularly, participating in the memes or even creating your own, they will come. You'll have a ton of followers in no time. :)
