Oh, the action around here!

totally agree with WickedCrownInc. the employer pays you to work-- and not do casual stuff. If you are using company property (computer) they have right to know. If you want to tweet, tweet outside on a smartphone. (or if you have the bucks, buy a...

Employees: Allow them to tweet or not to tweet?

As we develop social media campaigns for our clients, we often ask them to encourage their employees to support the campaign by sharing it with their friends, adding comments and just generally getting involved.

But sometimes that brings up a hairy question: Do we want our employees on social media saying they work for us? What if Sally's wild night out reflects badly on the company? What if she publicly says something negative about a client on Facebook or Twitter?

So we sometimes help compan… Continue

Planning Social Media - Yes, It's Possible!

I've been doing a lot of 2010 planning for my clients for whom we run their social media tools. My team and I have been coming up with some really creative ideas to make social media work for our clients in the coming year.

So I thought this would be a good topic for a blog post: planning for social media. What? Plan, you say? Who plans for Twitter or Facebook? I just write what's on my mind at the moment, right? Well, yes... sometimes. That's perfectly fine for individuals using these tools, b… Continue

Facebook's Revamped Feed - Are You a Fan?

Facebook's been in the news a lot lately - working out a deal with Bing to index its public updates, redoing its group feature and now updating the news feed yet again. As is almost always the case when Facebook makes a design change, plenty of people have rebelled against it. Change is hard! And even I have to admit change comes a little too frequently in the world of Facebook.

So what's different? Well, no longer… Continue

Facebook Groups Get a Makeover

I am continually asked "Should I use a Facebook Page or Group for my business/organization/cause, etc.?" and while I typically recommend Pages, I've always thought Groups had their place especially for issues and causes that a group of people support. But yesterday Facebook shook up their community once again with a major design update for Groups, putting them more on par with Pages.

Benefits of Groups
To me, the major benefit of groups has been twofold: you can send a message directly t… Continue

Keeping Up With Social Media

Well, I just had to write this one as I've clearly fallen behind keeping up my once a week blog here. I commented to my colleague today that "gee I wish someone would come up with an idea for a company where they keep all your social media updated for you in a very clever way" (uh, that's what my company does... apparently I need to hire us to keep my own social media tools current!).

But seriously, that's why I started my company because so many people told me the same thing. We want to do thi… Continue

Hi Lyn!
I really appreciate your posts and tweets. It is so nice to get such good advice so nicely packaged. In return, I wanted to share my work with you.

I am a singer and my lullaby Child of Sunshine is finished! Would love to know what you think :)

You can see it at: http://www.lullaby-link.com
If you enjoy it, please share it with as many people as you can.

All downloads from now through the end of 2009 will be donated to the Children's Miracle Network as they helped us so much when our son was born 6 weeks early.

Hope you are well!

Have you ever heard of a blog calendar with all of the important dates, holidays, special events that have occurred throughout history? I used to have a blog calendar, but I've misplaced it! If you have a link or pdf to a blog calendar, please send me a message and I'll send you my email address so you can send me the pdf copy or a link. Thanks!
