We do a "candle lighting ritual". We light candles and commit to how we're going to have a positive day. Things varying from "I'll do well on my math test" to "I'll complete all of my tasks for the day" to "I'll smile at everyone I see tomorrow". ...

Hi :) I have read the book, and would love to discuss it with other moms! :) I didn't notice it had been that long, either, but noticed it this afternoon. :)

Oh wow, a year ago! I didn't notice that! Have you read the book?

Julia, This was posted originally in Nov. 2008. I'd still love to discuss the book if folks are interested. :) Peace, Kim

This is an amazing book and I wouldn't mind reading it again to participate in the discussion. I dive back into it often, it's a great source of inspiration from a "real" mom point of view. Let me know when discussions start. :)

A little about yourself...
I'm a buddhist mother of 2 home/water/unassisted birthed/cloth diapered, slung, cosleeping, breastfed kiddies now 4 and 8 years old.

I homeschool my children. I help my 8 year old daughter ( Dxed ADHD but we suspect strongly she is on the spectrum given all her quirks) run her art business selling her artwork/photography on cards to local card, gift stores, and businesses.

I'm a ( new) photographer specializing in living portraits of families with special needs kids ( cause they'd never sit down for a family photo!)

I am married to my Photography teacher and mentor.
I'm a practicing attachment parent.I am a retired child birth educator

I'm an Ability Coach for ADHD women and children. Especially ADDmoms raising kids with it as well, which often presents a unique need for extra extra patience and care.

I'm studying for my master herbalist certification, having studied it on my own for over 5 years now.
I am a caregiver to my physically disabled ( for 7 years now) husband of 10 years.
What kinds of things do you typically Twitter about?
mom things, ADDwife things, ADDmom things, everything, rural living, ADDKids, ADHD, crafts

Hi, I just followed haiku_headlines. I don't know much about Haiku. Have your hubby add a picture (avatar, favorite thing) and more people might follow. Just a thought. =) Hope to see you around here.

How alternative am I? LOL! Hmm. How do I answer that...

Haven't visited this blog for a while, but here's some nonsense about it.. motheringontheoutskirts.blogspot.com

Also did homebirth, (one water) -can't say they were unassisted, hubby was freaked out enough- family bed, continuum concept, etc, etc.. homeschooled, unschooled...

Thanks for stopping by. I think most women wear too many hats a curse of being mutli-taskers. Men seem to be able to wear one hat at a time, but women like accessories I guess :)

LOL..ya I like doing shorter projects..like hand warmers and such. I've done a few blankets..but they were baby ones and I did other things while doing those..so not to get too bored. I made a blanket for my hubby and it was his wedding present and it covers the whole couch..took bout 6 months to make.

Thank you! Ok do as many stitches that you need for the 'ankle' part..so like toddler size I would say around 7..adult around 10, turn and single crochet across, turn now single crochet in back loop only across and continue that until you get the length you want that you will connect together to be the round part around the ankle..to connect you will slip stitch in matching both rows on each side and then I do a half double crochet around until I reach the height of the warmer I want. Hope that's not too confusing..lol But when you single crochet in back loops only..it makes a ribbing look.

So the blanket I'm working on..I got bored, my mind wandered and I folded the square in half and laced up the front w/another color yarn and Voila! I made adult leg warmers..lol I'll post a pic here in a few min. of it.
