For survivors of domestic violence & those interested in learning the truth. Domestic violence has such an impact on families... including, in 90% of the cases which end up in family court for divorce, a loss of children for mothers.
I am a grandmother now, with 3 children of my own, and now
six grandchildren. I was abused as a child, teenager and then in my first marriage of eighteen years. My children have
paid the ultimate price, due to my failure to get out of a life
that no mother should let her children go through. Now, after
all this time I suffer from PTSS, which has lead to a nervous
breakdown and other physical ailments. I grew up in a world
where the addage "You made your bed, now you lay in it" was
a familiar response, or she must like it . That was not the case and I now know that accepting it was wrong, but I was a nieve young woman, with no where to turn and no one to
trust. Now at 60 years old, I realize the importance of keeping an open mind and heart for those in this situation and I want to become invovled in trying to help others and a
program that will bring to light the tragedies brought about by
domestic abuse.
