- Sounds like we have a lot in common. I started my own contract furniture dealership in 1984 , raised my girls mostly as a single mom. (don't know how I did it , wish I didn't have to) married a wonderful man with 2 kids which I mostly raised the oldest graduated from VA tech in 2000. Still have my furniture dealership and helped alot of women employees "way back when" get empowered by making their own money. I just joined a company on the side that is new, gaining momentum. It is a "member-driven on-line shopping portal" You get paid rebates for purchases you already buy from, also earn points from those and point turn into cash. Since I am of the "older generation" I am used to "networking with women I meet. But just putting it out there to see if you might want to hear more about it.
