Blogging for happiness

Well, I only tried the short journaling with 3 beautiful thoughts each day for a week. But I can say that looking back on what I wrote gives me great pleasure. It's like a feeling of calm comes over me and the tension of the day is released.

They're wonderful reminders of what I have to be grateful for. I think I may go back to the good old handwritten journal, but I like the short-but-sweet format.

Have you given the 3 Beautiful Things a try? How did it work (or not) for you?

3 Happy Thoughts to End This Day

1. Feeling like a kid again - played a recorder with the rest of the "class" (parents) at school open house.
2. My husband cracking me up with a silly joke that only we find funny.
3. Quiet time relaxing with the family.

2. Its Wednesday!
3. I'm sleepy and can curl up in a warm, comfy bed.

3 Happy Thoughts to end this day

1. My cousin makes me smile with a kind email that lifts my spirits.
2. Son & I play games, eat popcorn and just relax (without tv or video games!)
3. The day is ended, it is quiet in the house and its time for sleep.

And make me think about how I want to live my life. I don’t want to “live like I was dying.” Although it’s wise to keep in mind that we don’t always have the time we think we have.

I’d rather take a cue from my almost 9 years old son. He throw… Continue
