What Effect Does the Economy Have on Families?

We hear a lot about what the impact our current economic climate has on business, banking, and Wall Street. We know it's trickling down and many of us are living a difficult reality. Jobs have been lost, savings have been wiped out, and homes sit empty as foreclosure becomes the only option.

But what has this done to the American family? And what about the families that are yet to be...the couples who have struggled to have children of their own and pregnancy seems to elude them. How about the… Continue

Hi Old West Mom, how are you? This time of year seems so busy, I've been trying to get some spring cleaning done but the baby makes it nearly impossible. (or atleast thats what I told my husband) LOL

Great, I spent time with the husband and kids, the weather was terrible so it gave us an excuse to veg out on the couch, eat junk food and watch movies. I really am addicted to twitter, I'm on this thing all the time, probably driving people nuts always leaving them comments. o well!

I like to use the comics to wrap presents in, too! I think they look cute! I agree though, maybe they will be gone soon. I keep reading that newspapers are folding. That is sad in a way, but I gotta say, I read my news on the 'puter, too. I look at some printed papers sometimes, but not regularly. Glad to hear I'm not alone in buying presents at least in December, I do try to get them before Christmas Eve, because they are so picked over by then. I wish I could go to less commercial Christmas really though, because I am feeling it's just about buy, buy, buy anymore, and I don't want my kids and grandkids to think that's what it's about. I also want to go serve at the soup kitchen for Thanksgiving, and have been saying that for a couple years but we haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe this year will be the time for it. Don't know why I even asked about Christmas, good grief, it's spring(which I am so happy for) -have a great day:)

You have the right imagination to be the writer you are, superman. LOL It's the perpetual problem for women, you just have to accept that some stuff can wait til tomorrow. And please tell me you're not one of those people who buy their Christmas presents in July(haha). At least we know that in reality all of us are having the same problem. Makes ME feel better. (I bet they even have a dust bunny or two...)
