Do you use meal planning tools to help keep your food dollars under control? Have you ever tried the free meal planner and shopping list at Meals Matter www.mealsmatter.org? They've really helped me!
This is for group is for discussing different ways to live on a budget. My husband and I got introduced to a man called Dave Ramsey who has taught us to live on a tight budget and to have a goal of becoming debt free.
Cooking with kids is a great way to instill healthy eating habits early. Here's a link to some great tips on how to get kids of all ages involved in the kitchen.

It's a great reference for cooking with kids and matches up pretty much perfectly to my kids ages and kitchen skills. I still let Alex (10) do a few more things than Sophia (6), but they both love trying all sorts of cooking techniques.

Starting Christmas Shopping, thanks to Common Sense With Money blog

Unexpected Joys of Step-Parenting!
I have a teen-aged step son who lives with his mom and step dad out of state. I only see him a couple times a year, and keep in touch with the phone and online. He's a great kid and I love him to pieces. He's a lot like his dad in the not wanting to talk about feelings kind of way, but he sent me a message loud and clear recently.
