I am in the shopping wasteland of Iowa right now! Just kidding, the shoppings not that bad. No Nordstrom though and that's hard! And all the great places to eat! And when they're not playing the Hawkeyes, we're big buckeye fans. My oldest was born in columbus and I was born in Sandusky. It's in our blood!

Hi Staci! Used to live in columbus, many years ago, and still miss it! Such an exciting place to live. My husband was at OSU for the last couple of years of his training, so we get back to see friends every now and then. LOVE Easton town center!!

Contractual and factual

Due to the magazine going to press last Thursday and leaving to go out of town that same day, I was at work quite late Wednesday night. I brought #3 and #4 to come up to work into the wee hours.

Oh they had a pip of a time. Once #4 figured out which phone number reached me, he called me from every single cubicle on my floor. Which is a bunch.

But they were so good. They made the situation fun and adventurous, as kids often do. They ransacked candy jars on unsuspecting coworkers' desks, braved… Continue

Kim Jong Mom

My #2 son has a great personality. Not so much on book smarts, but here's hoping in the future all those important people in his life will say, wow, what a handsome guy, and SUCH a personality! Yeah, here's hopin'.

Recently at the dinner table, he was being obnoxious (I know, right?) and I said, "Well, y'all better be careful because you KNOW I can tell tons of people all this stuff."

#2: "Oh, are you going to put this in your [using air quotes] BUH-LOG mom?!? Ooohhh. I'm scared." Smarty pants… Continue

A party divided

The talks about the candidates have been heated. The debates have covered a myriad of topics ranging from "spreading the wealth" to "Joe the Plumber." No, this isn't network TV. Or even CNN or Fox. It's my house.

I don't know if I should be proud or afraid that my 7-year-old is "voting fowa Jowan McCain." That my 9-year-old is calling me Obama Mama. What about my 13-year-old voting for the Constitution Party candidate, Chuck Baldwin? Who is he anyway? At least he didn't say Ralph Nader.

Of cou… Continue
