Does your school have more than one 1st grade class? Maybe there is another teacher that has more "patience" or has better knowledge on how to handle him.

Hi! What a great question! So many parents struggle with this very issue. I am a counselor, working with Kindergarten thru 8th grade. I know how frustrating it can be when the school reports behaviors that you just aren't seeing at home. If you're...

I was in denial that my daughter was ADD/ADHD. I felt this was completely over diagnosed and a waste of my time to think about it. I tried modifying her diet, etc and nothing worked. I was so ready to crawl into a corner and cry because I couldn't...

A little about yourself...
I am a single mother of two, i work a lot and dedicate any other time to my children..I have joined because i often find myself talking to others who tend to have bad suggestions, people who think they are helping me but really aren't. I wasn't aware that there are so many out there as myself. My son has had ODD and ADHD for 21/2 years now he is 6 and was recently diagnosed with them. He has been kicked out of 5 schools and just started 1st grade. He was in private school and was told he needed help and they could not help him so i have turned to the public school districts so i just want to meet parents who could would like to chat and anyone who has any ideas .
