Hi Tracy,
Did you used to live in Chicago? I am originally from Illinios and also lived in California for 20 years. I LOVE Orange County. It is beautiful there. What is the name of your published book? Sounds interesting..
Thank you for commenting to me.
Delightful to hear from you again, Tracey. I'll look at your daughter's work at that site. My daughter-in-law and granddaughter (the vampire-turned-faerie in the pics) are into fashion creativity. Recently modeled their creations in Haute Trash (recycled materials).
My youngest is the wise old soul, as well. Her fantasy novel-in-progress is such a kick for me to follow (I feel blessed to have her wanting me to read her daily output. And can't wait for the next day's writing :) Has such deep concepts running underneath.
She's read many classics, don't think she's read much of Austen, yet. And she had nothing to do with math until
a fellow fencer, a middle-aged guy, mentioned Danica McKellar's books on math, eg. Math Doesn't Suck, this fall. She went nuts over the approach and went from about 3rd gr level to 9th gr level in a few days. Wouldn't put it down and plans to keep going with it. That's what I love about unschooling!
How was that experience for your family, caring for your mom?
Actually, she ended up settling for the NaNoWriMo goal of 50K. Which I think is still pretty decent, eh?
Some of my daughter's interests are reading and writing, creating in general, fencing, babies, and recent
sudden and dramatic interest in MATH!!! What about yours?
hopefully your daughter's computer will get repaired soon, I feel your fear ;-) I don't allow my kids to touch my computer (but they're only 5yrs and 15mos ;-), can't imagine such situation ;-(
Have a wonderful week!
Good to hear from you, Tracey :) I certainly understand about getting computer-jacked
by one's child. My daughter recently commandeered mine for a while as she couldn't
use her writing program on her own computer and had committed to NaNoWriMo for
60K words for the month. Yay! She is a NaNoWriMo winner AND got a new (to her)
computer. Don't you just love happy endings? Ha!
