Well, calling him a "child" and a "jack---" isn't going to do it; if he said that about you, what would you think? You need to ask him why he doesn't want to go to the doctor; if it's money, then perhaps you need to let him know that, in this cas...

During a trip back home this past two weeks for my dad's surgery, I realized something about my mother: she's become incredibly rigid. There are rules about timers, and appliance plugs, and napkins, and paper towels, and washing bowls and cutting...

It's easy for women, Us, to have an opinion like this. The aswer to this question would always be, NO. But in my situation, I would have to explain it. I was married to a "mama's boy". He would'nt do anything without her permission. I didn't find ...

I can't see a funny side to this at all. I think any man or woman who knowingly has an affair with a married person is as bad as them. Both parties are being dishonest and it always comes out, which is when everyone gets hurt.

Not funny, but it can be a fact of life. Even women are starting to do it. People get much to dramatic about sex.

From my professional experience I would say that there is absolutely nothing funny in infidelity. It hurts all parties involved. The victim feels betrayed, the cheater feels guilt and "the other woman/man" will always wonder if it will happen agai...

No, not specifically, but I do think that humor can be a very useful cathartic tool and can help people process their emotions and view things from another angle which might help them to grow. I'm not saying this is the case with this movie-I hav...

No, there is nothing funny about infidelity. I've been on the wrong end of it. Things are much better now (16 years after the affair), but that's not to say that I can't go back there in a minute with the right (or wrong) trigger. I started to re...

No, it's never funny. I just read and reviewed Cleaving, the upcoming book by Julie Powell (of Julie and Julia fame) where she in part documents her infidelity and disintegration of her marriage. It was really heartbreaking how little regard she s...

No, never! My heart truly ache for the women behind the scenes. They are living, breathing souls, that never deserve such treatment. Society is accepting these atrocities more and more by the day, truly saddening.

Is infidelity ever funny? You might want to ask Mrs. David Lettermen — I’m guessing she’d say no (although, one of Letterman’s paramours, Merrill Markoe joked, “As you can imagine this is a very emotional moment for me because Dave promised me ma...

Interesting I have been talking to a guy for some months and we have decided to start dating and he told me was okay with the kids being around. I thought is this a good thing because he's serious about me or is that he is child molester or someth...

One divorced family, one pink slip, two disasters

It shouldn't have been so shocking to me that my former husband recently lost his job — we’re both journalists, and even if the world at large wasn’t tanking, newspapers have been. It's kind of understood that for the few of us journalists still standing, it's just a matter of time.

But as I thought about how his life was going to change and what that might mean to our two teens — one starting a culinary program in the spring, another two years away from graduating high school and with plans to… Continue

Halloween, or Dress-Like-a-Whore Day?

It’s October, and so the Halloween decorations have taken over. So I was admiring the windows in some of the stores downtown, the pumpkins and witches and scarecrows, when I walked by the lingerie shop. Along with the lacy La Perla bras and Hanky Panky panties were some manikins wearing costumes — a French maid, a Marie Antoinette-like French getup (but with a lacy miniskirt), etc.

That’s often how we women dress on Halloween — we flaunt our sexuality, whether as a French maid or a nurse or a s… Continue

Why get married again?

If Elizabeth Gilbert did it again, why wouldn't all divorced/widowed women?

Marry again, that is.

The author of the best-selling memoir, "Eat, Pray, Love," eventually marries "that guy" she met in the "love" portion of the book. She details all in her about-to-be published book, "Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage."

But she marries him because she must — he's about to be deported for good.

Now, most of us don't marry a second time because of that, although I know people who’ve ma… Continue

Want to be famous? Be like Levi Johnston and start blabbing

It would seem that Levi Johnston’s 15 minutes of fame would have come and gone by now. Once his would-be mother-in-law, Sarah Palin, lost her bid for vice president, you’d have expected that the somewhat hunky, hockey-playing, self-described “f-ing red neck” former boyfriend of Bristol Palin would have settled into his normal life in Wasalia, Alaska, doing whatever it is they do up there. After all, he’s not really famous for anything other than knocking up his teenage girlfriend.

I supp… Continue

What kind of "quirks" are you passing on to your kids?

Families are odd, odd things.

There are a lot of things you can control in life and a lot you can’t. The family you’re born into is one of the “can’t” things. I always thought that everyone else’s family was a bit more “normal” than mine.

For the longest time I didn’t realize that no one else tore paper napkins in half (to make the 260-count package last even longer? Who knows?); that other families weren’t watching black-and-white TVs whose screen was split in half, with one half showing what… Continue

Do you have a Twitter account? What do you tweet about?

I tweet about my fight with breast cancer and being a brand new mom. I am trying to find more people to follow me so that my story will help spread awareness:
