I am 42 and have four kids. My oldest is 14 and my youngest is 6 months. My advice is dont try so hard to keep up with them....give your oldest the freedom and space to explore safely on his own and make sure you are ready to listen and comment on...
Its funny, but I definately have MORE patience with the baby and much LESS with my older kids. I used to think that the baby stage was the hardest and least rewarding......but my 14, 12 and 8 year old boys have quickly disabused me of that idea.
