I am spinning the wheel of diagnosis again at ooph.
I do this thing where I diagnose myself with a disease about, oh, EVERY TEN MINUTES. If I feel the slightest amount of pain in my head, I go straight to visions of me in the hospital and my family standing around my bed and saying, "We told her that cheap red wine was going to cause her brain to swell. If only she had bought the more expensive wine, she wouldn’t be in a coma fighting for her life." If an age spot shows up on the bridge of my… Continue

I take on too much. I know that about myself, can't help it and then I pay the price. I push, push, push and eventually I push too far and the world starts spinning and I don’t mean figuratively. I mean I wake up in the middle of the night and feel like I am on the Teacups at Disneyland. Every time it happens I react like Redd Foxx. This is the big one and grab at my chest while quickly running through all the people who will wake up the next morning to hear the news. Not you people of course, b… Continue

I joined the writers fan page The Nervous Breakdown a few months back because some of my Myspace friends who, like me, are whoring around Facebook now and joined the group. If you can’t find me, I go where the traffic goes. Lemming is my maiden name. But I changed it to Kehoe just before puberty because what anxi… Continue

....and I hate to admit this, but sometimes that happens more often than not. I'm usually able to rein it in, but it does tend to go viral for a good day, day and a half. You thought I was going to say "hours," didn't you?
The fact of the matter is, I have a family who loves me, a daughter that, after 8 years, I still find difficult to believe that she actually sprang from me, my health, great, and I mean, great, friends. I've got a nice house to live in, a car to drive....you're starting to wo… Continue

I have always been an introvert. It has never been easy for me to put myself out there. To meet new people. To speak up. To have attention on me. (I don't even like when every sings "Happy Birthday" and that is family!)
In the years since my first marriage and having my son things have gotten worse. I have full out anxiety. I don't have anxiety attacks per se (I save those for times I don't know where my son is!) but my IBS will flare up, my stomach will hurt, and I'll have to run for the restr… Continue

This blog is about my anxiety of writing and my secrets creeping out between the lines. In this case, the secret is a corpse that happens to be in my possession. Last thing I want is for anyone to see it!

"Moooom! Don't leave me!" School, work, and play, your child wants to be with you 24-7. The babysitter gets an earful. The daycare provider deals with tears. And all you want is to get to your job without a big scene. Sound familiar? Mindy Roberts of The Mommy Blog asks, "How do you deal with separation anxiety?"
Is separation anxiety a problem in your home? Does y… Continue
Anxiety issues as well as depression and learning problems tend to coexist with ADHD. Some children, however, are incorrectly diagnosed with ADHD when in fact they have an anxiety disorder. Other children have both symptoms of anxiety disorder and ADHD but the medications for one can actually cause more harm than good.
Any treatment option for a child with ADHD needs to look at the child holistically and make sure that all factors are taken into account and monitored.

My goal lately in taking care of myself is to work on BEING rather than DOING all of the time. Check out one of the places where I'm going to work on this...
Here's what I've
Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.”
Chinese Proverbs quotes
I can remember when I was a kid always holding that envelope in my hand and taking a deep breath for fear of what I would find inside. I was never a good student. Looking back now at all of my report cards each time it was the same line just worded differently,
"Darlene is a wonderful, attentive student and she is a pleasure to have in the classroom. In the next term Darlene should fo… Continue

Skill Building Strategy - Anger Mountain
Sometimes children have feelings they experience intensely, but do not understand. You can help your child learn to modulate their feelings better if you take the step to help them identify how they feel, when and why.
One method I use when I visit the home of a family is “Energy Mountain.” Depending on your child’s individual needs, this can be called “Anger Mountain” or “Anxiety Mountain.”
Imagine that a child climbs an energy mountain… Continue
Hello, I am Ms Mir, a certified astrologer and tend to once in a while talk about topics that we all deal with. Either on a day to day business or from time to take. I will talk about the significance it has in regards to astrology.
Today I am focusing on the planetary shifts and how it has affected autism, and the views of the general community in regards to autism. Again I will generally tell you what autism is. It’s a neurological condition which affects social and speech development. Autist… Continue

Now I know my son is a good kid and a pretty smart cookie. But as this conference inched closer and closer I couldn't help but wonder if I was wrong. What if at school, he is a big stinker? You always wonder what your child is like when you're not around. And since I've not really been able to volunteer in his class or get a chance to get to know the teacher, I haven't really had any indication of how he's doing. Other than my own observations from home.
Plus, I was almost kept back in Kinderga… Continue

So I get home a li after 6am this morning and pass out just after 7 *yay*. I wake up around 8 to noise in the kitchen/dining/living room. SO I push back the sleep mask & dig out the ear plugs. Can't put em as deep as I like b/c then I wont hear the three alarms I have set to try to get my wore-out ass up for work.
About 10am, awake again...more noise -laughter, jokes bumps & thumps..grr, screw it. Lost the mask but earplugs intact. Shoved em a lil deeper and tried to doze back off...didn… Continue

My son Noah is 7 years old. And I am convinced that there is something wrong here.
Currently (and over the last year or so) he's been raging, something we haven't seen before. He goes from 0 to 60 in 3.5. He growls at us, slams doors, throws things around his room and says mean and hurtful things to us, because we've said no to him for something.
After a time out, he is sorry, and recognizes that he should think before he speaks etc. But then the very next time it happens, we start all over. T… Continue
Hi all!
As I have time right now while my two and a half year old watches SPONGEBOB, I can write a post today about why I AM ANXIOUS TO GET THIS BABY OUT!
MY widget on my blog says 6 days left! WOW My son was born a week early so wonder if my little girl will be too?
Everyone keeps asking me what the name is going to be but I don't want to reveal that until she is born and I know is OK.
Friday night I had an hour of 15 minute timed contractions. But when I took a shower they stopped! Now it'… Continue
