My family gathers around the table we say a prayer then each person tells what they are thankful for this year. It is simple but a nice tradition.
I my husband's family the head of the household always makes the stuffing for the turkey--the night before Thanksgiving family and friends come over for a tasting of the stuffing and enjoy a glass of wine! Of course everyone has a few pointers and a good time is had by all!
Please add your family traditions!

I came home early from work today. Being 8 months pregnant is making my back hurt, my feet swell, and my patience extremely limited when it comes to talking to customers. I thought it was a great idea to come home and kick my feet up.
Here's why I couldn't stay there anymore today:
First, I arrive at work and had to talk to customers. Mostly, I love my customers. 70% of the time are kind and open to my help and advice when it comes to getting them the best insurance policy. Then, there are the… Continue

Veterans Day History for Children
Veterans Day takes place on November 11. It is the day Americans honor people who have served in the U.S. military. Veterans Day is also a time we remember and honor the people who have died for America. Many people share a moment of silence, at 11:00A.M., to remember the fallen soldiers. We pay our respect to all the people who have fought or are still fighting for the freedom that Americans have today.
In the early 1900s America was at peace, however, there… Continue

I've been so busy this fall -- responsibilities at school have really ramped up. (Now's about the time I need to start to learn to say NO. -- LOL, not going to happen.) Anyway, it makes me feel good to be involved.
The kids have been on school vacation for a while (we get a 2 week break in October, which is nice.) But the weather has been so rainy. I've been searching my brain for rainy day activities and came across a truly terrific resource I had to share --… Continue

I suppose this is it. We are coming to that time when things change, when my baby is no longer a baby. When my baby is now going to have a life outside our family.
He is going to do things I won't know about.
He will have friends I won't really know.
He will say things I won't hear or do things I am not going to witness.
He will sometime be told off by someone else and praised and cuddled by someone else.
He will be hugged by a stranger (well stranger to me) when he is hurt or sad.
He is o… Continue
"Moooom! Don't leave me!" School, work, and play, your child wants to be with you 24-7. The babysitter gets an earful. The daycare provider deals with tears. And all you want is to get to your job without a big scene. Sound familiar? Mindy Roberts of The Mommy Blog asks, "How do you deal with separation anxiety?"
Is separation anxiety a problem in your home? Does y… Continue
I’m never quite sure what to do about Father’s Day. Is it a time when daddy-o is supposed to spend the whole day bonding with his kid crew, or is it a day he should get a break from them?
After pondering the question for about five seconds, I decided to go with the bonding. Fact is, he spends a lot of time at work so doesn’t exactly need a ‘break’ from the kids. As such, I lined up a few dad and kid activities for the morning.
Breakfast in bed was not on the agenda, so the first activity was t… Continue

We love a guy who takes care of his face. Though beards are more "natural," you can still "go green" if you shave. Here's how:Continue

After months of not hearing a peep from my 28 year old son, I found myself being very sad and crying unexpectedly. My heart longed to have a connection of any sort with him. A mom begins to wonder if she'll ever see her boy again, or hold a decent conversation with him. If this was how he wanted it to be, couldn't we at least say goodbye to each other? We hadn't fought. We had always been on good terms. But he had quit taking my calls and wouldn't return any of my messages. I shared my broken he… Continue
