Just a quick review, for the sake of, I don't know, saving the planet. Beth Aldrich is teaming up with to make sure everyone knows that there are greener choices out there.
Some of the choices we have made are to buy locally when ever possible. If you have a fresh market in your area, you should find out what local farmers are growing. I promise that you will find a lot of healthy choices and you will also be supporting your local growers.
Another greener choice is to use cloth grocery bags when…

As you know, Earth Promise has formed a relationship with
Changents, a site that
“connects Agents of Change with a fan base of Backers around the world, enabling them to create change together.” Not only have I posted some blogs about the site in general, but have begun interviewing some of the most incredible
Heroes.
When I first found
Changents, I registered to be on their mailing list. Yesterday’s emai…

It takes a giant leap for some to go completely paperless. At work, some may begin to scan all their colleagues’ buiness cards into their computer; others may invest in an electronic records retention system. What about at home? I am constantly battling the endless paper that accumulates. Many of us now p…

Although many of us tote around some great reusable cloth bags and there are countless
anti-plastic campaigns for us to partake in, we still need to put pressure on the plastic bag industry. World plastic bag consumption takes millions of barrels of oil and masses of natural gas to produce these convenient…

“Help Save the planet, one drop at a time! Just imagine what we can do, send it on….”
These inspirational words and lyrics are the quintessential mantra from
Disney these days. A small scale, tweeners Band-Aid-esque group (remember,
We are the World?) has been formed, called,
Disney Friends for Change: Project Green. Their environmental message, via song…

Just thought I'd pass along a really cool contest that promotes education and action helping the environment. I know I feel so busy that I don't have the time I'd like to become 'more green'. This contest is about seeing a list of ideas and working with your kids to check off the list. As you check off completed activities, you are entered to win! Pretty easy and fun. You can plant a tree, help a neighbor, clean up a park, reduce energy and with all the activities there are educational links to…

Growing up in LA, I’ve always been fortunate to have access to a large, wonderful zoo.
Going to the zoo is always a fun day with the kids – with the added educational benefits.
What I never realized is how much zoos have to offer. Zoos have become a cornerstone for the protection and preservation of endangered species, and a key resource for teaching our kids about animals, our environment and about the world around them (aka science).Zoos offer everything from storytimes to age-specific classe…

We really need to pay attention to our "quick fixes" and realize that many of them not only bring harm to humans and our kids, but to our precious environment. A great article.…

Our food supply is crucial, not just ourselves but Mother Earth. How we nurture and grow our food without loading Her, or us up with toxic chemicals, pesticides and insecticides is very important for it all keeps on recycling back into Her and Us.
I don't get hung up on the label "Organic". It can begin with simply seeking out foods free of pesticides, insecticides, artificial hormones and anti-biotics.
Here's a new report that means to me the corporate, industrialized mega farms are waking up d…

Caring about what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in it..the skin absorbs everything into our bloodstream and is absorbed into the body. I am finding the more I am aware of my shampoos, conditioners, skin creams, etc. the healthier I feel and, of course, we are not letting toxic run offs enter our sewers, water, and rivers ... it all cycles back into us sooner or later.

I spent last week with my family in New Orleans where people still feel the wake of Hurricane Katrina. That was five years ago but there are areas where the city looks like some kind of Potter-esque villain pointed a wand and waved a swath of nothingness across a neighborho…
