Your ‘Go To’ Girl... (from our website
www.teamjessee.com)
I keep getting asked the same questions about our journey and about health/mommy related topics as well... And since I don’t think the interview with Julia is going to happen (at least not yet!) I hope a little quasi interview with yours truly will suffice!
Before we get into the questions, first I want to say that I think it’s funny that I keep getting asked these questions. I get them almost da…

Are You a Creature of Habit? Most of us can answer yes to that question. We live our lives "doing what we've always done and in turn we get what we've always gotten." I love that phrase. You can apply that quote to so many different aspects in life. From financial habits, fitness habits, social habits, etc. How many times in a day do you have thoughts about your lack of fitness goals? Or how many times do you repeat in your mind, "I Have" to work out today?"
Did you know that these though…

Did you know that you are 10 times more likely to succeed in your goal if you write it down, which is pretty amazing considering that 97% of people don’t do it.
It’s also interesting considering that 3% of the population own 97% of the wealth. Those 3% of people have clear goals they write them down and take steps to achieve them. If they don’t know all the steps that they have to take they will find out and keep trying until they reach their goal.
If you see yourself as having problems with y…

When you make the leap to work from home, you'll find you are given the gift of time. This can be a joyous awakening that creates the space you need to live the life of your dreams and allows you to plan your day according to your own desires and goals.
It can also be a major pitfall, because often for the first time, there's no one else running your agenda. There's no boss, no manager, no project deadline given to you by someone else. How you spend your time is entirely up to you -- and if you…

Are Your Closets Clean? Are your files filed? Is your book written? Is your checkbook balanced?
For the most part we as women tend to be action takers. We have to be with all we have to do. Work, house keeping, laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, car pooling, mothering, lovin' up hubby, and hopefully squeezing in some "me" time for working out and pampering. We couldn't do it all if we weren't action takers by nature.
But have you found that there are some things that always seem to get put on…

As a 50 year old mother of 3 kids that has lost 100 pounds while redirecting my commercial music business in early 2001 to include composing music for the health & fitness communities, I feel that one is never too late to go for any goal. In this time of economic uncertainty, most people...experts....masters of any trade are being tested. Being able to make a left hand turn at middle age is becoming more and more common. Going for a career that might have been compromised for any reason duri…

Do you work with a team or tribe to accomplish new things?
As you already know, once you have decided to set a new goal, the best way to achieve it is to put it on paper (the web in this case).
Then you want to be sure and tell others what it is you are working towards. This means others can help hold you accountable (not in a bad way).
Having others participate with you will give you a chance to brainstorm and support each other.
Well, a few of us over at The Internet Marketers Guild are doin…

Recently I attempted something new. Something I not only had never done before, but also that I was very unsure about. To be honest, it went much further than simply being unsure. I was down-right terrified of stepping out of my comfort zone and taking this particular risk. If I failed it was going to be in front of a lot of people. And what would they think of me then?
What do we do when we start to doubt ourselves? We begin to question ourselves. Honestly, that's not always a bad thing. It ca…

To achieve anything worth having, there must be some unction of determination on your part to take you through to the finish line.
What is determination?
1) Determination is the sustenance you need to keep going when you’ve failed so many times. It’s the deciding factor when obstacles present themselves.
2) It’s the mindset in spite of the pain that lifts you up and pushes your body forward even when it says you should give up.
3) It’s that which compels you to keep searching for an a…

Today I'm ready for a vacation. Between taking intense microbiology classes for my respiratory therapy program, my kids, husband, and a part time job I'm exhausted. I love cruises I wish I could go on one every year. My cousin and I went on one back in December of 2005 and we had so much fun because 1.we both needed it and 2. we did all the activities that were FREE. The cost of the cruise was only $250 and now you can find those type of prices several times a year. So that will be my next missi…

At a time in our country when so many people are experiencing problems economically, the desire to reach out to spiritual alternatives is growing greater and stronger everyday. Even people like myself who are not particularly religious have been grasping for something to make sense out of this difficult time in our culture. I envy those folks who are able to tap into their own religious beliefs and bring themselves a feeling of comfort.
I recently saw the movie "Doubt" which brought up all types…

“How many million times do we say the same old line it really blows my mind... you know it! Now, it's not a crime it's just a waste of time, now here is the reason why. Excuses, that is the same old reason… let's all attack... grab on this is the season... I'll take you there... a place that's warm and tender so here we go… let me show you the way. Today's the day... I know... nothing can stand in our way! I do believe that!”
These are lyrics I have written to my song available at the bot…

My name is MARINA and I am a Food-a-Holic! Well... to those of you that struggle with any addiction, you know all too well that the first step is to say these words openly to yourself before you can attack the problem head on. Oh sure... maybe you are one, like myself, that manages to get up every morning and perform at peak performance no matter what that is. A job... being a parent... making those sandwiches packed in a nice brown paper bag that you hand the kids before you drive them off to s…

How many of us who are trying to balance home... work... family and our health ever stop and think.... "Where did "I" go?”... Who is this person that I now don't recognize? With all the things that we do, especially us working moms, we often forget who we were before we grew up... maybe got married... maybe had kids. I ask.... "who were you when you were young?" What were the dreams and goals that have been compromised now in order to attempt to have it all? The American dream, honey!
Being a pe…
