"All the good men are taken!"
How often have we heard a woman say that, or maybe even felt that way ourselves?
Is that true? A recent study says that women must believe that's so, because they're
more attracted to attached men than unattached men. It proves that they're able to commit; we like that!
Women have been cast in the role of home wrecker throughout history — she's the temptress, the vixe…

Here is a short fun list of ideas to get your partner thinking you're the bees knees [:)]
1. Spend a little time each day asking him about himself. Favourite books as a child, who he admires, his hopes and dreams, what would he change if he ran the country, and so on. It may take a while to get him sharing these thoughts seriously at first ,but gradually he should open up more and more as he trusts your motives and gets used to talking about things he cares about. This is not an interrogation.…

During my twenty-two years of marriage, raising three boys, I've heard the following two phrases, several times: "Get to the point," and, "Your point is?"
With only one other female in my house--my dog--you can imagine my relief when a panel of four female published authors, spoke at the Ventura Book Festival, and confirmed that I was not alone.
"Men and women have different ways of thinking," said Mara Purl, author of The Milford-Haven novels. She explained how this is reflected in fiction wr…

Statistics prove that men think about sex every 5.3 seconds. Others argue that it's more along the line of 60 to 90 seconds. Regardless of the exact numbers, we can all agree men think about sex ALOT. This means just (lets just say) 90 seconds after the moment of climax, men are already thinking about when and where they're going to get it next. Tell me honestly then, is there any way at all that a woman can entirely fulfill her man?
This isn't what disturbs me though. What does, is that female…

Even though I have shot guns since I was in junior high school, had a concealed carry permit in my lifetime and I support the Right To Bear Arms; I do not support the myth, "I own a gun and that is the best possible method of self-defense. If someone attacks me, I can use it to p…

Guys worry just as much as women do about B.O. Surprisingly, far less attention has been paid to “green” and healthy deodorants for the men in our lives than for ourselves. Safe deodorants are important regardless of gender. Parabens, a preservative used to keep some deodorants fresh, increasingly are showing up in breast tumor tissue. Synthetic fragrances, especially those in spray-on deodorants, can increase the incidence of acne, headaches, and respiratory problems. Aluminum, another ingredie…

What should you NOT do on Earth Day?
You've probably already received hundreds of tips on what you should do - and maybe they're now a big mish-mash in your brain. Here are ten things you SHOULDN'T do. So don't.
1) Don't drive like a teenager, speeding up and slowing down and weaving in and out of traffic. Such aggressive driving can lower fuel efficiency by 33%. Accelerate gently and stay with the traffic to save gas and money.
2) Don't use cleansers and personal care products that contain t…

To Jump start your guy’s desire, slyly catch the eye of another guy. It’s a surprising strategy, yes, but according to scientific research, men do become more attentive and turned on by their partners when they see them being desired by other men. When he sees you talking to another guy, that instinct kicks in and he jumps to protect you and prove he’s worthy of your love. A little jealousy is like a wake-up call! Next time you’re out together, make eye contact with another man, flash a flirty s…

Mr Darcy, Are You Out There?
I got asked today what my favourite book was. It wasn't a hard question, I'm a Jane Austen kinda gal and quite predictably Pride & Prejudice is my favourite. I can't even tell you the amount of times I've read it. It's a bit like a security blanket or an old reliable friend. If I read a naff book and need a bit of a pick me up then it's always Pride & Prejudice that I reach for. I'm actually now on my third copy of the book. I first read it when I was just t…

Today I want to share my love for men who cook. My husband took up cooking a couple of years ago, right before daughter #3 was born. He was going to take parental leave for two months (thank you Germany!) and I told him he needed to learn to cook if he was going to be the one home. So he decided to do just that.
The good thing about men who cook for fun is that they are much more ambitious with recipe choice than those of us who have to do it every day. Jan cooks almost exclusively according to…

Warning signs or "red flags" prevail long before the push, shove, grabbing, punch, or assault unless one is simply ambushed. We have to learn and teach our family and friends how to "Detect to Avoid".
I open and welcome discussion to all about Power & Control. Please feel free to share the attached Violence Power and Control wheel - you never know who is hurting behind closed doors (mentally, emotionally or physically) - there are many aspects of abuse. Thank you and God Bless.

Domestic violence does not "see" race, gender, age, religion, degree of education, economic status - domestic violence can rear it's ugly head at any time. Yes, males are victims too!
Domestic violence is the use, or the threat of the use, of violence in an intimate partner relationship to attain and maintain power and control. Domestic violence is a pattern of intentionally violent and/or controlling behavior. Domestic violence often involves the use of physical force but can also include emot…
