I found an old crush from elementary school. I didn’t find him on Facebook. I did it the old-fashioned way. I road my bike passed his house seven times a day until one day he finally came out to get his mail and I said, “Warren? Warren Beatty? Fancy meeting you here!”
Okay. Not really. That’s the OLD old-fashioned way. I internet stalked and I found my first Asian crush with the famous American actor’s name when I was doing research for a manuscript I was writing. I was hovering over a very cha…

At 15, most of Jason’s friends had dropped out of school. At 17, Jason was thinking about dropping out too. He found himself sitting in school suspension in October of his senior year of high school for skipping too many days of school. He plotted his escape by telling the teacher he wanted to check out the colleges who were recruiting students in the gymnasium that day. Jason wasn’t interested in college. This was just a way to get out of suspension. The first booth he came to was a Marine recr…

I would like all twittermoms to take a minute and give
encouragement for our Military! Our son is in the
United States Marines, we miss him and hope to see him soon! He went to
Parris Island for
bootcamp, then to
camp leijune and now he is on
deployment. I'm sure that there are some
twittermoms here that have a husband or son or daughter in the military, I would love you to write a few lines of encouragement.
Feel free to visit my blog and add a f…

Thursday March 19th, 2009 marked the 6th anniversary of the Iraq war. What does that mean for us as women? Are we better off than we were before? For Lindsey Campbell, this question is very personal.
Four years ago she served along with men and women on the battlegrounds of Ira…

Don't really know much about this whole blogging thing. Sitting at home on my computer checking out all of the goings on in the community (mine at home) and the web community. My children are off to school safely. My daughter being a Junior in high school is getting ready for all of the goings on in her Senior year. Should she take her ACT's now? Should she wait for her Senior year? Does she really want to take her ASVAB and join the military? That has been a passion of hers for a while, along w…

I know it's goofy, but I just couldn't help myself. This is my formal introduction to this group and to my blog. But before I get started, I will tell you my story...It happened a little something like this:
1. Happy single person
2. Happy married person. Married to a Marine, stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC = 2 children
3. Marine Corps transferred us to Wilmington, NC
4. I withdraw from college so my husband could earn his MBA = 3 children
5. Husband leaves and gets out of the Marine Corps. =…

Today is Veteran's Day. At war or at peace time our service men and women serve their country. Many are overseas and many more are here in the US; still serving, reservist or retired.
My personal thanks go to Major Darrel Robinson, USMC. He is my brother-in-law, served 3 tours of duty, and now works for the USMC in the South East Region. Almost everyday, my son will say, I love Uncle Darrel, he keeps us safe and is a good man.
Thank you!

Full disclosure - I work for Trail's End popcorn (the brand the Boy Scouts sell). We have a new website - www.OrderPopcorn.com - where you can order popcorn tins for holiday gifts. Just like the in-person popcorn sale, an average of 70% of the sales from OrderPopcorn.com goes back to support local Scouting.
Another cool thing you can do on the site is order popcorn to be sent to U.S. military troops serving all around the world; popcorn shipments will be going out to the military for the holida…
